We went to the restaurant on a Friday night around 7pm, it was busy but it was a short wait for us to get a table. The atmosphere of the restaurant was nice, and the service was good. We ordered Rose marinated tomatoes, deep fried intestine, Red Vinasse fried chicken, Taiwan clear beef soup bowl. The portion was not large, but enough for the two of us. The food quality was good, and both the fried dishes were crispy and hot. The Taiwan clear beef soup bowl was a bit disappointing, the beef ribs were nice and soft, the corn was sweet, and the tofu was nice as well... The soup base was salty and did not have much beef taste. The best dish was the Rose marinated tomatoes, it was refreshing and tasty, definitely worth trying. The bill for our meal came to around $75, they offer a 10% discount if you pay by cash. Overall a good dining experience.
So yummy!! We tried most of the famous dishes, wish we had bigger stomach to try more! First of all, service was spectacular! Servers were very patient and attentive! Restaurant is very nicely renovated, we came at off peak hours and it was very nice and quiet and relaxing. Near dinner time it started to fill up and got bit noisy. The noodle is on the pricy side for the small portion but it was delicious and worth a try if it's your first time. Minced pork rice was very yummy. Deep fried pork intestine was very well made, not greasy at all but still soft and juicy! Eel sticky rice was yummy and served steaming hot. The grass jelly bowl is a must have! So refreshing and a perfect dessert to wrap up the meal! Will come back to try other dishes like the pork feet and 3 cup chicken.
Nice little gem in a convenient location. Interior design was modern & pleasing, service was very friendly & professional. Our waiting staff advised us no need to order braised egg as it comes with our noodle. And warning us every time he brought hot dishes Almost all of the food are above average, they are smaller in size compared with other traditional Chinese food but this is a Taiwanese culture. We didn’t mind it. Will definitely go back to try the other dishes.
The fried oysters, eel sticky rice, cabbage and soft shell crab were good. Will order again. The sliced melon/pumpkin was interesting but felt out of place when compared to the other dishes, didn't really go with the others. The noodles were mushy. The broth was ok, nothing spectacular, a little flat. Will skip next time. I didn't like the oyster pancake. The green they put in it was bitter, reminded me of bitter melon. Overall I liked my visit and will visit again with family but I'm going to deduct 1 star for the price point. For example the plate of cabbage was $16. This relegates this restaurant to more of a special affair place, more than a weekly dinner place.
Excellent dinning experience, the restaurant is super clean, spacious, and nicely decorated. Service was one of the best ones I've been too. Food were very tasty, and we liked all of what we ordered. Ordered their signature Red Vinasse Fried Chicken and Kabayaki Eel Sticky Rice, and we love them. The chicken has a very special flavor, unlike the usual Taiwanese popcorn chicken, very crispy and juicy. The sticky rice is very well done as well, very fulfilling, so better share it. We also order the Clear stew beef, the soup was so good, and not blend at all. We'll definitely come back again, very pleasant dining experience for sure, highly recommended!
Came by to grab take out. Turns out they had created a separate takeout menu for meal sets due to the restrictions which was great because I was gonna grab a drink somewhere else otherwise. [ Salt and Pepper chicken w/ rice ] - Presentation is good and the taste matches how it looks. Chicken was tasty, had a nice crunch to it and was not dry. The vegetables worked well together nothing that's overpowering. I like how the decor looks and can't wait until the restrictions are lifted so that I can dine in here.
Incredible place for family reunion with great selection of taiwanese specialties. Crispy pork intestines and black pepper stir fry beef rib are my favourites. Overall quality of food was amazing but it is a bit of overpriced for the portions were given.
Love Taiwanese food, the quality of food is good, portions are on the small size. I would say with the limited resources we have in Toronto, the food taste very good already. If you look for Taiwanese food, this is the go to place!!Food: 4/5
Came here for dinner on a Monday night. Restaurant wasn't too busy. Most of the food was pretty good. I quite enjoyed the marinated tomato and the eel sticky rice. The traditional minced pork rice was really quite average which was disappointing as it's one of my favorite Taiwanese dishes. Prices are definitely on the steeper side with smaller portion sizes. However, due to the smaller portion sizes, it does allow you to try more items. Customer service was very good for an Asian restaurant. Decor was nice. Wouldn't mind coming back again.
Love the food there. Definitely better than your typical Taiwanese food. All good except the dish of fried eggs with small oysters. The taste isn’t good and the sauce on top taste a bit weird.
