Had the spicy cumin stewed pork burger, three toppings H1+H2+H3 On Hand-Pulled noodle, and the Lamb Meat Hand-Ripped Noodle Soup. Best place in Calgary for biang biang noodles. Soup was very flavourful, and pork burger so delicious and crispy! The best kind of comfort food during these cold winter months. Would strongly recommend if you want to try some authentic Shaanxi style Chinese dishes.
Non chalant restaurant serving amazing fresh hand pulled noodles and dumpling. Unfortunately no vegetarian dumplings and but there veggie options for the noodle dishes. Great cheap eats. Super quick.
Really great liang pi and biang biang noodles! 5 stars for the food, but 3 stars for the location and parking. The food itself is great, made with care and they give quite a good portion for the money. The liang pi is fresh, spicy, and sour. The biang biang noodles are chewy and packed with sauce. The pork burgers are okay but not as good as other shops. Dumplings are fine here as well. The shop staff are kind and helpful. The shop itself is very small, in a less than ideal location on 16th avenue and there are only 3 designated parking spots in a cramped alleyway behind the store. The surrounding parking lots are paid or private parking which makes eating here a challenge. Overall, I recommend this place for some flavourful and cool Chinese noodles!
Found it on social media and had to go try the noodles. A small unassuming place that’s easy to miss, but get inside and it’s simple, clean and welcoming. The owner will happily explain the dishes to you and make a recommendation or two depending on your preferences. Chose the S3 - Lamb and noodle soup which was aromatic and light. Wood ear mushrooms and other veggies were in the broth which contained some very tender pieces of lamb. The noodles were soft and chewy and cooked to perfection. No idea how long the broth was cooked but it was full flavour and came out piping hot. Also had the H4 - Three topping pork on hand pulled noodles. Very different with pork belly, tomato, eggs, and definitely chili oil involved. Apparently has something called proprietary sauce included - no idea what that is but it was worked well. The noodles soaking in all that sauce and flavour making a chewy mouthful. The portions are more than reasonable for the prices, and you don’t feel stuffed just pleasantly full. Question - to return? Absolutely as there is just too many tempting items on the menu especially pork burgers… Parking: Free parking for customers in the Pay Lot next door.
Authentic flavours and a lot of food! Access is extremely sketchy, but that added to its authenticity. I wish the menu could be more accommodating for people with limited Chinese proficiency or lacking exposure to Shaanxi cuisine, but staff was very patient and understanding.
Fantastic, yummy LiangPi. Noodle soups are given in a gigantic bowl with a portion like your Mother would give you. A taste of China, but in an odd location. Careful where your GPS tells you to go! ;
Really excited to try some ripped biang biang noodles. Made sure I was there at opening to beat the crowds. Having never been there I was hoping for some guidance. Nope, the person taking my order didn't really want to spend time explaining the dishes. Too busy with other things? Ordered and told it would be 10 minutes. Great, I can wait that long. Waited and waited and waited. Good food takes time. Maybe they were still making a fresh batch of noodles. Waited and waited some more. Sure did want to try these noodles so I waited the 45 minutes it took to finally cook my one noodle dish. H3: MOUNTain Qi Pork Hand-Ripped Noodles - noodles nice and chewy, good portion. Interesting flavour profile, not as bold as I was hoping for. The veggies were a bit bland. Tiny pieces of meat that could use more flavour other than salt and pepper. Worth trying again? Not sure.
Located in a really weird and sketchy looking building. But don't be fooled, they have awesome Liang pi. Highly recommended.
SO DELICIOUS! Their biang-biang noodle is the best, taste so good. This is my first time trying, and definately will come back. I'm so happy found this hidden gem in town. Highly recommended!
The owner comes from the same province in China as I do. We talked about his business and I realized that he is a genuine guy that actually wants to make the local food from our hometown known by people around the world. He was making the food by heart and it was not all about the money. I’m impressed. And btw, the food are authentic.
