Ding Ho Restaurant

I would have given this place a higher rating, however after my last experience there I simply could not. First, the food is very very good. I highly recommend the place for it's food. Although this past experience left something to be desired. Starting with the fact we ordered the dry breaded veal. Sadly it was so tough, that out of 10 pieces we tried by the four of us, only one was chew-able. We had to send it back, something we do not normally do. But this was not good at all, and not anyone being "picky". After we told the owners wife who runs the front, she apologized and brought it back to the kitchen and did not charge us for it to her credit. However the owner, an elderly man , and whom I believe to also be one of the cooks proceeds to sit at our table several times, drunk and still drinking. Interrupting our tables conversations several times, he then hides a bottle under our table next to my wife's leg. When he was informed we sent the veal back, he came out and became confrontational ordering me to "try it" Not a new plate mind you, but the one we sent back. We proceeded to show him the chewed pieces that we could not chew up, and he ignored that and instead kept making a scene. He finally left. Then grabbed his bottle, and went to another table, drunker than before. They have an aquarium in the back of the restaurant that is offensive. There are several large goldfish in the tank, and it has not been kept up or cleaned in the slightest, this also show to have a couple of dead fish floating on the top. The bathrooms were filthy, and the tables wobble so much we were afraid ours was going to snap in half. I do like the owners, they seem to be nice people. But we sadly will not be back. This was our friends first experience there, and the owner and his drinking ruined the experience of a place we used to hold in high regard.

The best Beef Stew Noodle Soup in Winnipeg even whole Canada. Must order Cold Hock Pork(V18), and Beef Stew Noodle Soup(V9). Fantastic!!!

Really good hope in the wall type restaurant. Great portions and prices, food tastes really good. I recommend the ginger bed and wonton soup.

Dont judge this book by its cover. Although the area is a bit sketchy the food is great! Wonton soup and ginger beef are amazing.

The environment and the food were great. The host was very rude and I was rushed by her, but the rest was very good.
