Denizen Hall

This place is perfect. But only perfect once in a while. I wouldn't go every week because you can only beat Simpsons, Ninja Turtles, and Wrestlemania so many times. The band is absolutely awesome! Best cover band in Edmonton and this is a city that really favours cover bands (or at least bands that fill half their sets with covers). Still though, if you come every week then it will wear thin. I recommend this place like once every month or two for a really standout night. That's what the Denizen is made for - standout nights. It's not like The Empress or Black Dog where you can go be a part of the crowd every single Friday. The Black Dog isn't really entertaining that way, they just get to be a cool neighbourhood hangout. But the Denizen is all about entertainment. They have a rock-solid mix of band/dance floor/arcade. If you dance for 3-5 songs, drop $20 bucks on tokens for you and your friends, and sip on your drinks while watching the bands then you will walk away MAYBE out $40 and you will definitely be feeling good about life. The Denizen just has that uplifting magic to it. But don't abuse the Denizen nightly. Standout, special, memory-making nights only.

The service and drinks were amazing. We had Rea(I'm probably miss spelling) serving us. She was an amazing server. The games are a blast and the atmosphere is just cool.

Went here for my fiance's work Christmas party. The atmosphere is great. I was immediately drawn to playing all the arcade games there, both classic and new. Street Fighter II, Dungeons and Dragons, X-Men, Pac-Man... So much to choose from. The food was great too, but I'm unsure of if it was from the Hall itself or catered by a third party. If it wasn't, get the perogies. They were great.

Great food. Great drinks. Awesome house band. My go to bar for live music and dancing in Edmonton. We've always had a great time here.

Best night out in the city. Book it. If you like beer (you do) and old school arcade games (check) and kick ass cover bands (yup!) then you need to go to Denizen. Plus they have awesome pub food. I'd recommend the chicken and waffles.
