nnI have to admit — when Deerfoot City was first built, I wasn’t a fan. The “California-style” design didn’t seem practical for Calgary weather, and at first it felt like it just didn’t fit.nnBut over the last few years, it has definitely grown on me. I’ve visited multiple times, and I’ve come to really enjoy the variety of businesses and the overall atmosphere. There are some great restaurants, shops, and services here, which makes it easy to spend a few hours. The outdoor layout has actually become a nice change from the typical enclosed mall experience, especially on warmer days.nnThe area has also improved as new places have opened, giving it more energy and a stronger community feel. Parking is generally good, the space is clean, and it feels safe.nnAt this point, I can honestly say I’ve gone from skeptic to fan. Deerfoot City has become one of my go-to spots in Calgary, and I look forward to seeing it continue to grow.
Very difficult to work with administration to come to satisfactory conclusions for problems. Guest services never phones back and administration does not attend to the matter promptly. I had Santa pictures taken at Deerfoot City in November and didn’t receive them until February 4 when I finally made a trip directly to the office to ask them to attend to the matter. I was unable to send Christmas pictures out this year because of it. For my troubles they even fought with me to give me my money back. Not impressed and will NEVER do Christmas pictures at Deerfoot City again.
Stupid 4 way stop design for entering to the mall,should have set up traffic lights here though. And always consider the safety first in winter. Don't argue or fight with any stupid drivers here, if they don't stop in front of the sign, just let it go
Great place, friendly staff, clean & good prices. It was amazing to see all the animals displayed.nComing from Australia we don't really have any thing that tops that.
Deerfoot City has completely redefined the shopping experience in Calgary with its fantastic open-air concept. The modern design and walkable streetscape feel much more vibrant than a traditional enclosed mall. It offers a great mix of major retailers and diverse dining options, including fun spots like The Rec Room for entertainment. The convenience of easy access right off Deerfoot Trail, coupled with ample parking, makes every visit stress-free. It’s a clean, inviting destination perfect for both shopping and a fun family outing.
