I've been to many yoga places before, but Emily's classes have been simply amazing. She is the yoga teacher I've always sought! She is very calming, has an amazing narrative to guide you in yoga, and always brings her own twist to her classes. The studio overall is wonderful. I love that you can share a 10 class pass among you, your family members, and friends. Love coming here :
Recently the teaching staff has been incredible! I took a year hiatus and I'm really impressed with every class I've been to in the past couple months. So happy this level of skill and variety is available in downtown Hamilton. It wasn't always this way so I'm super pleased to see this improvement.
Always step in whenever I'm in Hamilton. This studio was home to me for 11 months back in 2014-2015, and now that I'm back in the city, they're like a surrogate family XO I won't change my 5-star review, because this is all that Hamilton has now esp post-covid with so many closures, but I will tweak it -- and add that I've been coming and going from this studio for a total of 11 months. Each time I leave, it's because of immense passive-aggressiveness I experience during some of the classes. I think this may be a part of the hypocrisy latent in many spiritual communities, however I often find that many teachers will just spend an entire class trying to pick on one person, while telling the class to 'let go of attachment' and 'breathe it out' and 'just two more' and 'release the hunch' etc. The flow feels totally disrupted, no one can get a workout in, and all their storylines are the same. You can't get much from this to be honest. I prefer to just use the space for a mixture of whatever they have happening and self-practice, as I really don't see the benefit of being instructed by passive aggressive yogis. It's annoying. It's like being yelled at by a 'teacher' that wants to simultaneously boss you around. Unfortunately I'm going through massive homelessness right now, so I mostly go there to have some place to be. I think this may be what has made me a target there, as I'm sure if I were a proper yuppie, they'd never question me. All in all, if you're new to the city or just passing through, I'd recommend it. As far as regulars are concerned, they used to have serious practitioners but they've mostly gone now and everyone feels like they're new here now. This studio used to be hardcore , however Katie runs it well so it's still consistently operational. I'm there everyday to kill time now. So don't mind the person in la-la-land : I think they have faster classes but they'Re super early in the AM. Too early for me, however I might try to switch it up just to see if there's a difference in energy, who knows. Glad they've went virtual, I think it's the future. If I had the space, I would rarely do in-person classes anymore tbh
Sonya B has amazing energy and knows how to guide a room so wonderfully. I highly recommend her class to feel the best!
I dropped into De La Sol today after what seems like an eternity and the hot room is now bigger and better! Emily's noon class was amazing, very encouraging and welcoming!
The dark-haired female at the front desk has been dismissive/curt with me twice when I have asked for her help with the app. Not a very welcoming vibe for a yoga studio :
This is the best yoga studio I have ever been a part of. The teachers are wonderful and very experienced. I like how they make you feel at home, learning your name and always welcoming you with a big smile. Alaina, Becky, and Claudia’s classes are my favourite. I wouldn’t have made it through grad school without this studio!
This is by far the best yoga studio I have ever attended. I've moved away from Hamilton a couple of times since initially moving here and have always been disappointed by the yoga other cities have to offer. All of the teachers are unique and very experienced, every class is something new, and the studio has created such a welcoming, warm and accepting community. Whether you are a beginner or experienced, this studio is for you, because it's for everyone.
LOVE it here. I’ve been going to De La Sol for years now and have had such wonderful experiences during my time spent here. I’m forever recommending this studio to everyone! The teachers are amazing and teach wonderful classes. I loved how even when I was new to yoga I felt quite comfortable here. Also, they offer amazing prenatal and mom/baby classes which just grew my love for this studio even more! Can’t say enough good things.
The Staff at De La Sol Hamilton are always SO friendly, and helpful every time I've come in. They have been so accommodating at requests, I can't wait to continue my membership. There are so many class options and times, and the instructors are all so welcoming! Great Yoga spot!
