I ordered a cheese pizza slice and it was huge! Thin crust baked nicely, excellent full of flavor, and nice amount of cheese. Yummy. Warning, if you want crisp, this isn't crisp, more like NY style which I like! The kitchen staff are fast in preparing the pizza. I wanted to try a vegetarian/vegan pizza that had toppings but unfortunately the only choice was cheese pizza. I couldn't order the vegan slice pizza with toppings due to my allergy. I wanted to order one more food and didn't want a huge pizza instead try to order a vegan sandwich so I asked about a specific ingredient in the vegan meat due to my allergy. Staff did not know and manager response repeatedly "I don't know." I was taken aback that she wouldn't try figure out or call the owner or the guy that actually made the vegan beef. She said she didn't have contact numbers and didn't know and couldn't find out. As a manager, that was not how one answer the customer. From my experience, vegan restaurants will find the answer for their customers. The cashier was apologetic and tried to be helpful. The interior decor reflect the name opposite of exterior. It is unique and easily located on a corner. The space is not large. It is best for order to go especially for large group/family. There are a few high chairs seating for one or two people. Also four tables for 2 people. Parking on the street is available.
Came here for a quick bite near closing time. Ordered their vegan slice with "sausage" which was huge. I've actually never had vegan pizza so I don't have any comparisons but it was pretty good. Their pesto cheese bread was buttery and flakey. I would get it again!
Very standard pizza joint with wings and sandwiches. They've got "big boy" slices that melt in your mouth and delicious, foldable New York crust. A new favorite spot. BYOB.Food: 5/5
Slices bigger and tastier than your head, at $5-6? Incredible. Plus a rotating slice of the day that’s usually more interesting than chz/pep/ssg. As far as full pies go, check out the diavolo all their specialty pies have a vegan counterpart or literally anything else. The wings are really good too. I can’t wait to explore the full menu here. The vibes are very chill
MOZZARELLA STICKS LOOK NOTHING LIKE THE PHOTOS. They're, at best, frozen cheese sticks warmed up. The pizza is huge, thin and awesome.
Dante’s is good, but when ordering slices it ranges in quality. They like to use huge slices of their pepperoni slices but only put 2 on there. Their crust gets so difficult to eat as well because it gets so stiff, almost stale. If you can get it fresh, I recommend for a quick bite but, someone needs to have a heart to heart with owner of the quality and of it’s consistently.
Solid place for hand tossed pies. Or if you just want a slice, they’ve got that too. Plus a good amount of rock and roll attitude.
Solid NYC style for the neighborhood - if you really dig pizza, you need to have it in your rotation
I grew up in Chicago and near west burbs, and I am super picky about pizza. I've eaten a variety of pizzas here and in Italy. This has been our go-to pizza spot for as long as they've been open here in Logan Square, which I think is 10 or 11 years? Anyhow, I love their unique and creative pizza combos. Their pizzas are very large. The crust is thin, with a substantial edge that is sprinkled with oregano, which I really like. It's not the traditional style Chicago thin crust that I grew up with, but in some ways, like the herbed crust and lack of greasiness, it's better. We moved from Logan recently and this is one place I will really miss because there's no other pizza place like this. Okay, maybe there is one sorta like it in Palermo.
I've gotten slices of the day from Dante's several times, and they are always delicious! Slice of the day today was very spicy with three different kinds of peppers! Huge slices. They were playing "What We Do in the Shadows" on the TV. Latin inscriptions and a wooden pizza paddle with goat head/ pentacle hanging on the wall give the interior a Gothic feel.
