I never leave reviews and honestly this is my first review. I will never go back to this place. I went there to purchase a pair of ballet tights for my daughter. I was in the store for over 20 mins, and NOBODY even acknowledged me. I even grabbed a pair of tights myself and waited at the cashier, but everybody just kept passing me as if I am invisible. It was actually kind of insulting, and in the end I just left without buying anything. I wanted to support local, but from now on I will order my dance wears online.
their service is horrible. my husband bought something for my daughter, but he didn't know her size. he asked them if he can take two sizes, and try which is good for her, will keep one and return another. when he brought them back. they just wanted to credit instead of refund. it is actually not a big deal if we still want to buy something later, but it make us feel bad. if that is the way they want to keep their customer, I don't think anybody wants to come back once the credit is used.
In the past they have been great but this year the girl that helped us was not helpful at all in picking out ballet shoes, it was our first time taking ballet so we needed guidance and she was of no help and seemed to know nothing about dance. My daughter's ballet shoes don't fit properly now. Make sure you get a sales clerk who knows something about dance if you go here.
I wouldn't recommend this place to anyone. Horrible customer service. Was told I can return my item from a sales associate if I had any issues. Went back 3 days later with my unused merchandise only to be told I can't return my item I can only get credit. The owner wasn't wanting to help me at all even though I was mislead by her employee. Definitely not happy at all. Wouldn't go back and now stuck with this store credit.
The older lady there was very rude and laughed at me. I find the staff to be snobby and unhelpful. The prices are outrageous. I think they are rude cause they are the only dance store in town and feel they can do whatever they want. I will NEVER go there again. I have 2 girls in dance and will order stuff online if I have to. I recommend everyone else do the same. DO NOT GO TO DANCE ESSENTIALS.
Shelly is always very friendly and helpful. I try to go during the day instead of weekends or after school because it is a smaller store with limited staff and it gets very busy during peak hours. They are happy to help bring in things they don't have and they are always adding new things to their selection. Well respected around town.
I have trouble finding comfortable shoes to dance in but dance shoes provide the support my feet need and look good. Dance Essential carries a great selection of styles and offer custom options. I need dressy shoes for my son's wedding. I found a pair that fit perfectly but the heel was too high for my comfort and I wanted a different colour to go with my dress. At Dance Essential those custom options are available at no extra costs.
Lovely experience picking out my first pair of ballroom shoes. Very helpful. I'm so happy with my new shoes
Great service!! Every time I come into the store, the staff are very helpful, answer all of my questions, and basically get everything for me! They know a lot about their products and what most of the studios need which is great! Definitely would recommend this store!
Been shopping there for over 10 years for kids dance and figure skating needs. I believe in shopping local but I will not go back as they have no protocols in place for social distancing, staff do not wear masks, no plexi barrier at the counter and no hand sanitizer for customers to use. Like it was back in pre COVID. Kids are already at risk going to school and going to dance or fiqure skating but at least there are measures in place to minimize risk. Find another store to buy your dance needs
