Daldongnae

I was very excited to finally make it to Daldongnae. This was an amazing decision to celebrate my birthday. The restaurant itself is pretty cool with very traditional decoration making you feel like you just travelled outside of Canada. As a big fan of Korean series and K-pop, coming here I felt like I was actually in South Korea. We ordered the famous table and a bottle of makgeolli. For meat, we had short ribs and pork belly this was for 2 people. At first, I thought the meat portions were kind of small but with the side dishes, we had a full meal. Along with the delicious side dishes with the option to refill, the melted cheesy corn, and the fatty mouth-watering meat they served us soup. I even had to ask what type of soup was it because it was amazing! The prices were also not bad for the amount of food included. My only regret was not having enough space in my stomach for more! This is going to be my go-to for Korean BBQ even if I have to drive down from Barrie to any of their locations.

It was our first time dining here so we greatly appreciated the attentive and informative service. They had a good selection of quality meats accompanied by unlimited sides. The grill was clean and cooked everything in no time. The interior design was lovely and inviting.

One of the best K-bbq in RH/Markham. Price is very reasonable with unlimited Korean appetizers. Service is always top notch and doesn’t have bad smell after dinning.

This location is convenient, since the closest one before this one opened was North York. Service is quick and efficient - we've never had to wait long for a table. The grill comes with cheese / milk corn, kimchi, garlic, and egg. You also get a number of different side dishes. The quality of the meat here is good, but a little pricey.

I usually come to this location rather than the scarborough one because you never really have to wait for a table and the tables are bigger. But on this occasion, my experience did not meet my usual expectorations. Staff: 4/5 The staff here were friendly. They seated us right away as there wasn’t many other diners at the time around 1pm. They were informative about the need to order 2 meats in order to dine in and they were attentive when we needed extra sides and napkins. Cleanliness: 1/5 The reason why we needed the extra napkins was because of the seats. Even when I come to dine around dinner time, the seats and table are fairly clean. For some reason, our benches were both wet and sticky. I’m not sure if they did not clean it properly or it is the cleaner itself but for a restaurant with only 2-3 other occupants, you would expect that the available tables would have been cleaned. Because it is dark in the restaurant, I only found out about the state of the benches as I sat down. I was immediately disgusted and had to wipe down both my seat and legs, then lay out napkins for me to sit on. I later had to go to restroom to use the sink to wipe off the sticky residue left on my legs. Food: Beef Short Rib + Beef Rib Finger 3/5 The beef was okay, small portions but the quality wasn’t that bad. Shrimp 1/5 Even though we were careful to not overcook the shrimp, it hardly mattered as the insides were mushy. Not sure if they were old and needed to be used up as we were given an extra shrimp, but the quality was just not there. Side dishes 3/5 The side dishes are standard was always. There are about 6 side dishes including a hot soup that is very soothing, as well as the small sides on the grill itself which are replenishable. There is a limit though! Overall: 2/5 Unfortunately this visit did not meet my expectations, the state of the chairs was seriously gross. Either change what cleaner you use or make sure the chairs are clean BEFORE seating your customers. Will not be ordering the shrimp again and will definitely be wiping down the seats before coming here again which may not be in the near future.

Great spot for Korean bbq. I love the mini sides they have with each meal - corn cheese is always amazing! The pork quality was great, but beef seemed to have been sitting for a while. The kimchi fried rice wasn't what I thought it was - it used purple rice and didn't taste like traditional kimchi fried rice, probably wouldn't recommend this. Great spot for a quick meal for friends.

Great place to get some kbbq and pretty comparable to their other locations. Service is prompt and the food is great as always with side dish refills :

Came here for dinner on a weekend evening and managed to get a seat. We tried the pork belly, boneless short rib, beef chuck roll and kimchi pancake. They give you plenty of sides which can be refilled but what I wish they told you was that the corn cheese can also be refilled two times. For an a la carte place, the cuts of beef we got weren't any better than AYCE Gyubee. Half the short rib pieces didn't have substantial marbling and were small cuts, almost as if they were trying to get the exact weight piece by piece. The beef chuck roll was very very lean, not sure if it is even AAA grade beef. Kimchi pancake was bland and not crispy even at the edges. Service was a bit slow. The Scarborough location is much better.

Update: Still my all-time place to go for kbbq! My all time favorite chain for Korean bbq in Ontario! They offer great quality meat and it's priced reasonably as well! Not to mention their variety of unlimited free side dishes including the egg, cheesy sweet corn, kimchi, bean sprouts, spicy cucumbers, seaweed, korean potato salad/mashed potato, and jelly. You can also ask them for spicy peppers/jalapenos for your lettuce wraps. All their branches also offers one complimentary hot tofu soup per table which is very nice to have mixed in with steamed rice which you can order on the side. My go to meats are the hanging tender, finger meat, and the boneless short rib. I also tried the wagyu short ribs, they were ok, but for the price I didn't think it was worth it, just my opinion. First time at this Richmond Hill location and they're on par with their other locations, no complaints. Great food, good price, give it a try!

Love that this is in Markham now. Decor follows all locations but alot more space and not feeling too crowded. Beef and pork cuts are thick n side dishes were very tasty. Service was fast and friendly. Looking forward to trying other dishes next time
