Chungchun Rice Hot Dog

Ordered Volcano hotdog with ramen chip toppings and half mozzarella/half hot dog add potatoes. The volcano is mildly spicy. Not a fan of the ramen chips. The mozzarella half is better than the hot dog half. Will get all cheese next time. Both are salty. If you like salty hot dogs that you can customize with toppings and dressing, then you should give this place a try. For us it is ok and would only go back if we are in the mood for it.

Price - $5-$8 per item From here I ordered the 1 Chungchun hot dog original 2 Sweet potato hot dog 3 Ramen chung hotdog The batter was fluffy, and not overly oily. I would suggest they could be done a tad 10-15 seconds longer. 1 their original is honestly their best. The flakes that come covered on this are better to eat in smaller bites. 2 the sweet potato chunks that cover this hotdog are tasty but make it rather difficult to eat 3 ouch, as much as the flavor was there, the ramen tends to scrape your mouth. Again taste was great, not my forte but at least I tried and can express about my experience. Service here was a tad awkward, the language barrier had me rush my order and blind side what options I actually wanted. Atmosphere of the shop front is very basic, plain, doesn't really seem to inviting. Their menu was on pause... And clearly could see the name of the video title and the play button. Their options are not very clear, like which you can adjust the toppings and which you cannot. Example don't order their original dog thinking you can put different toppings on. As they have set items, it's literally just order the menu item. Not sure why they have the option to add toppings.

If you feel like trying something unique, this might be the place for you. Tried it first the first time a few weeks ago and I was pleasantly surprised. These rice hotdogs are the 21st century’s new and improvement POGO sticks. There’s quite a few combinations that you can try but I mostly recommend trying the original one. The service could use some improvement though as the staff keeps getting the orders wrong.

I often order here. The front desk service is beneficial and patient. They are very familiar with the products they sell. Their staff can help you find the right one for you, no matter whether you have known about such hot dogs before. In this photo, I bought three of my favourite hot dogs. Volcano with ramen chips, squid ink hot dog and Chung Chun original. The shape of the hot dog is perfect, and the excellent appearance makes people have a great appetite. The oil temperature and cooking time are appropriate, without a greasy feeling and badly burnt brown. The canola oil they use is very refreshing and fresh. As far as the catering industry is concerned, most of the ingredients and oils they use are open and transparent. If you are interested, ask, and you will be answered. As I am always used to taking them home for eating, I will ask them for some sauce in small containers. As shown in the photo, I asked for a lot of sauce. The staff here are still happy with such a slightly cumbersome step. I am pleased about this. I have had a similar experience in other places, but the answer is negative. In general, this store is 10/10 in my mind. I often patronize and will continue to patronize in the future. Vegetarian options: There are many vegetarian items on the menu. For example, all cheese, all mozzarella and marble cheese. There are also classic vegetarian hot dogs and chocolate hot dogs for dessert.

I was here on a random Tuesday about noon time. It wasn't that busy. I ordered Gamsung hotdog hotdog covered in potato cubes and cheddar cheese hotdog. It was ready in 5 mins, rather quick. The guys working here are so friendly. While I was lining up, the family in front of me asking all kinds of questions about toppings and all that, but the guys were so patient answering their questions. The hotdogs were delicious and the experience were pleasant. I recommend trying Chung Chun Rice Dog when you visit Hillcrest Mall next time. A little history of Korean style corn dogs and myself: It was 2013, during my first trip to Seoul, I came across Korean style corn dogs covered in potato cubes. It was heaven and I fell in love instantly. I thought of it all time ever since. It was a nice surprise to see a few Korean style corn dog stores landed in Toronto years ago. I tried many of them. I have to say, so far Chung Chun Rice Dog gives me the most authentic taste that brings back wonderful memories from my trip in 2013.

Always consistent quality with other locations. Their dough and breading was great. Very long line up and we had to wait like 10-15 mins.

I normally really enjoy Chung Chuns but unfortunately the last 2 visits I found a hair baked into my rice dog! The first one I thought it was a fluke but it’s super apparent after this last visit that they need to do more to avoid hair falling into the food. Really disappointed because this is my closest location : I’ve added photos from both situations, the one on the container was unfortunately not found until I started to eat the hot dog hence why it was pulled out.

Gam-sung hot dog with potato is my favorite! There are variety of sauce options and I like honey butter powder. The pineapple aide was good pair with it.Food: 5/5
