So glad to have found this Korean chicken place so close to our home! We were very pleasantly surprised to find that each order of fried chicken comes with a side of fries - what great value! The secret fried chicken was perfectly seasoned and our favorite by far. The garlic fried chicken was seasoned with plenty of garlic and had a great crunch. The fries are fried to perfection, and stays crunchy even after it cooled - we couldn't stop eating them! A five stars from me - we will definitely order again. Keep it up!
Hoolala Chicken is a brand from Korea that specializes in Charcoal grilled roasted Korean chicken. The chicken is super tender, and tastes amazing as well as the seasonings with it. The Original and Special are the ones to get. The large is perfect for 3 people or so. Service was great, very accommodating and nice staff. It is worth the drive to Richmond Hill! Highly recommend this place!
This place is going to be part of our regular line up. We ordered a small $16 order of soy garlic Korean fried chicken which comes with fries and a small order also $16 of the original charcoal grilled chicken which comes with a side of Cajun rice. You also get free cole slaw and pickled daikon. The food here is delicious, especially the charcoal grilled chicken, which has a beautiful smoky flavour this was my favourite dish of the meal. I also love how the charcoal chicken has some Korean rice cakes in the dish and it takes on the smoky flavour too. I wish you could order the rice cakes as a side dish I need more!!! Lol. The chicken here is incredibly juicy, moist and perfectly cooked. Its not too salty or oily so its perfect fried. The fries are phenomenal, crunchy on the outside and soft like mashed potatoes on the inside. We upgraded our fries to "snow fries" for an extra $5 which has shredded mozzarella and this orange cheese powder on top. I could do without the orange powder but the shredded mozzarella was tasty, just not sure if its worth $5 extra. If I got the snow fries again, I'd ask them to hold back on that orange cheese powder. The Cajun rice goes really well with the chicken and its a nicely seasoned accompaniment. The service here is also great, staff are friendly and food comes quickly after ordering. Heads up that you get a 10% discount for paying cash and any extra sauces ordered cost extra for about $2. I'd highly recommend coming here and trying both versions of the chicken.
We went arrived shortly after opening on a Sunday and we’re surprised to see they were already busy with take out orders. Though there were lots of tables available for dine-in, the place quickly filled up and got busy. We had a pleasant dine-in experience: the server was friendly and helpful, and the food arrived piping hot and in a reasonable time. We ordered two chickens and a cheese corn for four people. The secret sauce BBQ chicken was definitely the favourite at our table. The flavour was a delicious balance of sweet, spicy, tangy with that smoky flavour from the BBQ. The rice cakes were a perfect accompaniment. The Korean fried chicken crispy and well seasoned, basically as good as any other Korean fried chicken joints. The Cajun rice was yummy and went well with the saucy BBQ chicken. The cheese corn certainly was cheesy, but based on our preference perhaps we should have ordered another order of fries or rice cakes instead as they were delicious. Overall an enjoyable meal that worked out to about $20 per person. I’d recommend this as a good casual dining option if you’re craving something more than just the standard Korean fried chicken.
3.5 Star Review - Can Improve Korean Fried Chicken LLBO Cash Discount Mon-Sun 12pm-11pm Covid protocols in place Newly opened chicken joint with private parking lot about a month ago. Great service and beautiful interior design. When it got a it busy the restaurant did get a bit stuffy. Already serving draft beer Moosehead, soju and other alcoholic beverages. Not a full bar or extensive bar menu but just enough for wings. Complimentary radish and coleslaw. Cajun rice: It came looking like Uncle Ben's rice. It tasted just like Uncle Ben's rice. The flavour, texture and colour and all. As a home-cook, I really hope they're not serving me Uncle Ben's rice for $3. Disappointed. Cheesy snowy fries: Not crispy. Heavy parmesan taste, not stringy enough. Fries seemed more baked than fried. It gives me the frozen fries feel. Disappointed. Original half KFC: Crispy and tender on the inside. Not much other flavouring other than that. They did offer ketchup and special mustard packets from Korea. Spicy secret fried half KFC: There was an option for regular spicy one chili or spicy 2 Chilis. I asked the difference in spice level and the server said the regular even a child can eat. So I chose spicy. And it was nicely spicy. Crispy on the outside and tender on the inside. Nice and hot. But both chicken I didn't get the FRIED chicken feel. Almost feels baked. It's healthy and juicy on the inside but I'm still craving for a bit more crunch and oil. Overall I'll come back to retry maybe in a few months when they settle down and make some adjustments.
Fantastic Korean fried chicken place up north! Their chicken is delicious and it was a pleasant surprise how their chicken breast was so tender. They offer a nice variety of options on their menu. They serve beer on ice cold mugs so if youre thirsty, a good place to be. I personally don’t particularly like Cajun rice, but that’s just me. All in all, would definitely come back if I go golfing up north.
I enjoyed the taste of bbq chicken!!! Chicken was so tender and yummy! The sauce on the spicy bbq chicken goes well with the cajun rice that comes with the bbq chicken : they also give little tongs for you to use and I didn’t have to lick my finger after enjoyed the atmosphere as well : Definitely visiting again! next time I want to try the snow cheese version
Overall pretty good Korean Fried Chicken. The soy garlic was very good but the spicy flavour was a bit too sweet for my taste. The fries in one portion was old and cold, but we probably could have asked for a new serving if we cared. The size of the chicken pieces is perfect and it was very tender. The batter could be a bit crisper. This place deserves higher than a 4, but it's closer to a 4 than a 5.
Richmond hill north finally has its own Korean chicken. The soy honey fried chicken was amazing, authentic Korean taste! I find it less greasy compared to other kfc. Would return again and recommend it. 10/10
We came as a party of 4 and ordered the Large Hot Fried Chicken and the Small Charcoal Secret Chicken. It ended up being a lot of food for us but probably a good amount if you’re all hungry. My personal favourite was the Charcoal chicken, beautifully seasoned with a delicious charcoal BBQ taste. I liked the Fried chicken for its coating and sauce which I think we should have gotten the spicier option for since it was quite sweet but I didn’t feel like the chicken was seasoned to the bone. Perhaps they don’t brine their chicken, because as you got past the coating and closer to the bone, it still had a “chicken” flavour that wasn’t very pleasant. If they improve on that one aspect I think the Fried chicken would be perfect. Otherwise great value for your money in terms of serving size, and I like that all the food comes with sides and pickled items!
