Went there near closing time so those cutie cakes were sold out. Bought mango passion fruit cheesecake and milky way. They are very smooth. The only improvement should be cashier training. The line moves very slow because of one cashier only and the cashier also need to put cakes to bag. Some people left because they couldn’t wait the line. Some staff in other positions have nothing to do but wait for the cashier finished the line. That could be improved after.
Visited during the opening weekend so the wait was 1hour+. The desserts are cute and have a lot of variation but the taste is just okay. The Lucky Duck is cute but the flavours of Lemon curd and Pistachio cream didn't really go well together. The macrons tasted better than the cakes.
I had high expectations for a specialty cake shop but I was let down by the experience and the taste of the cakes. I visited the store on a Saturday at opening. When I got in, I was greeted with empty displays, frozen cakes and cookies. I expected that the cakes be made fresh daily. The cakes had ice and frost on them. They were also dripping wet with condensation. The quality and consistency appeared poor as the cake decorating looked sloppy. I ordered the Ramen Bowl, Lucky Duck, and Tira-meow-su. They all lacked flavour and depth. Each component did not add to the cake's flavour. Overall, bland and underwhelming. Raman bowl was chocolate mousse which was not chocolatey, lucky duck was lemon with pistachio and almond cake but all you taste is one tone lemon flavour, and the tira meow su had no marsacpon flavor and very little coffee flavour. Many other cake shops and bakeries make beautiful and more innovative flavoured cakes. I wouldn't come back here. The hype is definitely keeping this place a float for now. Daan Go is purely for asthetics, cakes lack flavor and quality.
Went on opening day! The staff were super friendly and kind and pumped everyone in and out as quick as they could. Can't wait to come back soon!
Minus one star for the hour-long lineup. They offer a variety of baked goods including cookies, croissants, macarons, molded cakes, and layered cakes. I got 4 slices of layered cakes this time and they all taste pretty good. They all had graham cracker crust at the bottom. It would be nice if they had the nutritional information available so I can better estimate my intake of calories and nutrients. I would come back again if the lineup is shorter.
The opening weekend was as busy as it gets. The decor was very cute, light, it totally felt like I was transported into a super Mario video game with the colors and what appears to be clouds on top The service was phenomenal! This is so specific towards the lady that was running the cake and macarons station. She was delightful, energetic and so lively. You felt her passion for her job. There was the male manager? Maybe ? He was handing out cake slices for the people who waited so long in line. I didn't get the chance to interact with him, but he had such a positive energy and you can see it was contagious. The man of the hour. The star himself was in the shop. I watched him on master chef and was rooting for him. Needless to say I was starstruck and wanted a photo. But contained my composure. He was very much human and wanted to interact when he could I had the -3:15 full cake -24kr mango cheese cake -cheesecake fromage The 3:15 was a brilliant cake to allow yourself to be immersed into the flavors of this bakery. It was such a lightweight, moist, impactful flavors. One note is, this cake doesn't hold well over night. The pineapple bun exterior tends to get too soggy 24kr mango cheesecake, was one of my favorites! I love mango's and cheesecake's. However this combination always seems to fail for my tastes. However, they cracked the code with the filling and chunks of mangos! Cheese fromage! Can you say cute? Cuz' how much cuter can you get!!! This was a perfect pairing to a coffee. Fantastic flavoring love the citrus !
One of the best macarons I have ever had! The fragrance was amazing, the look was cute, a bit expensive but it was worth the price! Tried the carrot cake with the rabbit shape, it was good. Tried the tiramisu with a cat on it, outstanding! Both David and Christopher was at the shop, serving nice pastries and chatting with customers, it was amazing that both MasterChef winners were so friendly and welcoming! It was a great pleasure to meet them and taste the food they have created. Last but not least, thanks for the Tong Yuan cookies you gave me Christopher! It was delicious and so special, combines the flavor from Asia and still rock it! Looking forward to visit again!
Stumbled upon this beautiful master chef x 2 owned shop as tourists from Ontario, having no idea we actually have locations so close to home! It was grand opening weekend here in Richmond BC and the staff were so friendly and welcoming. We walked in during a private event and as soon as they found out we were from out of town they kindly asked us to stay and take a look and let them know what we wanted. These baked goods are truly a work of art, almost to gorgeous to want to eat. We got a couple treats and they did not disappoint! I would HIGHLY recommend a stop into this bakery.
I had an amazing time lost of options to choose from. Joanne was amazing at recommending and so friendly. Definitely will be returning!
Waited in line for an hour, but it was definitely worth it! I only got one macaron because they’re quite pricey at almost $4 per macaron, but the pandan coconut flavour was delicious! They’re also so cute. The real star of the show was the special cakes they offer at a great price! I would spend $8.50 on a normal slice of cake anywhere else, but here you get cute themed cakes! I got the cheesecake fromage and the lucky duck. They both tasted super unique and delicious. You can tell they were designed by a master chef, given the unique flavour combinations and textures. Definitely worth trying!! Maybe wait until the hype dies down though so you don’t have to wait an hour like I did.
