Story

Well established restaurant with home cooked meals located in Mitchell. We offer a wide selection of food and daily lunch specials under ten dollars. Every thing is made from scratch from our muffins to pies to burgers and soups.
We do have selection of light lunches such as wraps and salad. If not seen on the menu just ask and the chef will cook it up for you. We have fish and chips ever Friday and our fries are freshly cut never frozen.
Thinking you have not time to order and eat in our establishment during lunch. Just call us ahead of time and we will have it ready for you when you come in and eat. We are liquor licensed as well.
So come on in if travelling through we are located right in the heart of down town Mitchell, ON and enjoy our fast and friendly service.

10 of us went for brunch and because we weren't expected the waitress was huffing and puffing and rolling her eyes as we ordered and she attempted to stay organized. 4 more people we knew soon came in and they were told that her "regulars" would have to be served first. Please note, the regulars were not even there yet and never even came before we left. Very dissapointing customer service and never in my life have I felt my business, along with our fellow hockey team mates business wad so unwanted. Oh and they were so frantically trying to feed us and get us out that the portions were very small and the kids and men left hungry still. Never going back!

Had the hot beef. Worst ever! I've had some pretty bad hot beefs over the years this took the record for the worst. A slice of dry bread with deli beef? Not really sure about the beef it was small rounds with blackened edges. Rounds a little larger than a toonie. Never seen beef that way before. Meat had no flavour. Gravy was cheap packaged powder mix. Haven't tasted that kind of gravy for years. I thought restaurants stopped using it two decades ago. Thankfully there wasn't much gravy on it which only made the meal drier. Home fries was the only option for potatoes. Tasted like yesterday's potatoes. Coleslaw wasn't the worst but nothing to write about either. Thankfully I was starved so I ate it fast with nostrils pinched. I hate waste even if it tastes bad. Husband helped me too. After eating the meal and using the salt my husband pointed out the dried on ketchup and food on the shaker. Gross how didn't I notice that. I was to anxious to try and fix the taste of the nasty food. Looking across the room at other tables I could see dust. It was obvious they don't move things to clean the tables. Dust was covering all the surfaces behind the counter as well. There wasn't even anything on the counters to move. No pride in ownership here. I wouldn't darken the doors again. I can only imagine what the kitchen looks like if the public areas were so dirty. Wish there were negative stars. Looks like a nice place from the outside, inside looks like a typical 1960's Main Street diner. All that was missing was the little table side jukeboxes. Very expensive for what you get too. Big disappointment.
