Food and service was excellent as usual. However the manager obviously is incompetent. Our bill was 21.75, we handed him 25.75. He handed us back 3 single dollars. Seriously? Your a MANAGER. You are suppose to be the one with superb math who hires individuals who can work a register. If you can't even work a register whose saying you hire responsible people.

Service friendly and efficient. Extensive menus. Separate menu for breakfast (served all day). A lot of southern style cooking. I've been to over a dozen of their stores in mid Atlantic and Midwest in my travels. Basically all the same, well managed and clean. Generally, right off interstate highways,

Worst meal of my life. The chicken was like rubber. I have no idea what was in the dumpling sauce but it was inedible. The cheeses grits were soupy grits with cheddar cheese shreds dropped on top. Never ever going back. Rated it 1 star only because the application requires at least 1 to rate. In reality rating is minus 10

We love Cracker Barrel and are frequent customers. The food is great---and today's food is also delicious. There is only one thing that always disturbs us at any restaurant--being called pet names by a server.  Today, the server was overboard with the "honey" "honey" honey" after every sentence.  There is nothing wrong with sir or ma'am (or nothing at all). But today was the worst case of pet name calling---every sentence.  Restaurants are a business and pet names often sound condescending.  It's possible to make customers feel welcome without the pet names.  Refilling glasses and bringing the extra napkins will show us we are welcome.  Well, we are now at the end of our meal---drinks never came---I had to find server to tell her that I needed the drink before the meal because I needed to take meds prior to eating.  But although we are still eating, she doesn't mind sweeping the floor around us.  I originally had a three star score but I need to change it to 1.
