Costco is an outstanding one-stop shop that offers a fantastic shopping experience. They provide a wide range of quality products at competitive prices, ensuring great value for money. The food selection is excellent, with delicious ready-to-eat options and fresh ingredients. One of the standout features is their easy return policy, which makes shopping hassle-free and builds customer trust. Whether you’re stocking up on household essentials or trying out new items, Costco always delivers. Highly recommended!
I like Costco but there has to be a better lay out. There were so many people it was impossible to get through the store or even through some of the aisles. The check out lines were up against the aisles and both sides of the centre area. How can anyone move a jumbo cart through that?
This Costco location offered the worst experience I’ve ever had due to untrained staff and clear racial discrimination. I think her name is Carol. While waiting to return an item, I noticed that everyone else was allowed to walk through the entrance without being stopped. However, I was singled out and asked to show my membership card. This felt uncomfortable and unfair.nnWhen I raised this issue with the manager, I was dismissed and treated as though I was being unreasonable. The manager claimed that staff were responsible for checking memberships, but during our conversation, a white male customer walked through the same entrance without being stopped, and neither of the two staff members asked him for his card.nnThis blatant inconsistency, where over 20 people were allowed through but I was singled out, is a clear act of racial discrimination. This kind of treatment is unacceptable and deeply disappointing.
I'm a little disappointed, I'm a new member since April 2024 and I've only shopped a handful of times and had good experiences until the last two times at the Chain Lake Drive location. My partner and I usually go together both listed on the same membership and share a cart and go to a self check-out, this hasn't been an issue until recently. Right before Christmas on a Very busy day, we waited in the line for 20+ minutes and when we got to self check out they asked if it was two orders, we said it was and were told we had to go to the regular check out but wanted us to go to the back of the line. It had been a long day and we had travelled over 3 hours to get there so I didn't want to argue and we went to the other line.nnWhen we got to the check out we explained what happened and they seemed confused and said he must not have worked there, we asked to speak to a manager to clarify what happened and they told us there was no rule about this at the check-out and they apologized. We also called their customer service after the fact to complain about the unnecessary stress and again were told it wasn't their policy and they apologized.nnWe returned to the Dartmouth location a couple days ago and went through self check-out without issue, however when checking out at the chain Lake drive location again today we were told we needed to go to the regular check-out stating that the reason is because they aren't able to monitor that everything is being properly scanned if it's two orders. This point might be valid if they didn't pay employees to check your carts at the door on the way out also we had a very small amount of items in the cart, not at all hard to keep track of if they had wanted to.nnThis may be a store specific policy, but it isn't posted Anywhere within the store nor at self check out that this is their policy, they just allow customers to wait in the line and cause unnecessary grief when they unknowingly try to check out.nnAn employee named Marvin is a Gem of a person though, 10/10 for Marvin!
I was deeply disappointed with my recent experience at Costco. I witnessed clear racial discrimination, where employees treated customers differently based on their ethnicity. It’s disheartening to see such behavior in a place that should promote fairness and equality. I want to remind minority shoppers to be cautious when shopping here, as you may not receive the same treatment as others. I sincerely hope Costco takes this issue seriously and provides better training for their staff to ensure respectful and equal treatment for all customers.
