We stayed her for our recent soccer tournament the kids had so much fun the parents as well. The staff were so friendly and kind which can be so hard with so many kids around. The rooms and beds were so comfortable. Will definitely book here again !
I recently stayed at the Coast Kamloops Hotel, and was not impressed with my stay. I have previously stayed at coast hotels, and the Kamloops hotel was not what I expected from the coast brand. The lobby was gorgeous, on par with expectations. The elevator was ancient, but worked well enough. When we got to our room, we found that there was insufficient lighting to brighten the room. The lamps worked, but not all the light bulbs were the same color, and with all the lamps on, we barely got the room more than dim. The bathroom didn't have a plugin anywhere, and my wife had to blow dry her hair outside the bathroom. The fittings in the bathroom were loose, and the tub tap didn't work properly. When we asked for a cot it took more than a half hour to get it to our room. The pool curfew was not enforced and we heard shouting and splashing well into the night. Overall I was not impressed by the condition of the room, and did not feel that I got my money's worth. I realize that running a hotel is expensive, but I feel that a little more care should be put into making sure the rooms are in working order and on par with the brand's higher class image.
This was the best sleep we have had while away from home. We stayed for two nights in a very spacious room two queens, and this was by far the best sleep we have had while away from home. The room was facing the atrium, with no traffic noise. Great location that was easy to get in and out of. We booked last minute at a discounted price, so that was also a bonus.
I give this hotel a 1 star rating because of a security issue that arose during our stay.nThe room, suite, was “good”, but we paid for “great”. Ie layout, furnishings, cleanliness. The deck is beautifully laid out in our corner room, but the furnishing was only good when great would be very doable. The hotel itself is beautiful and probably has great exterior views on the north side.nWe checked in early,thank you about 1 and were nicely settled in our room when we hear a double tap on our door. Before we had a chance to acknowledge the knock a man opened the door, stuck his head inside. He seen I and my wife sitting there and quickly apologized for entering, and left. My wife and I were a little perplexed as he failed to identify himself, we had been given no notice of his pending arrival. We were staying in a honeymoon suite. You can well imagine the potential scenarios he could have stumbled on as well as the potential scenarios had we left our things there and left. I told the front desk about this and considered the matter dealt with. 2 hours later I asked how it turned out. They made no investigation. As I was speaking to a desk person I showed some concern and what appeared to be a manager broke into the conversation and tried to assure me that it was a “probably “ a maintenance person. I was astounded by what I heard. When it comes to guest security, “probably” simply isn’t good enough.nThe potential of the situation demands certainty, not probably. I could not leave my wife in the room alone again because of her feelings of insecurity.nYou are potentially a great hotel, do better!
It was a phenomenal experience, from the layout, to the rooms, to amenities. My only gripes were the music in the restaurant was a tad high making conversation a little over casual speaking, and the hot tub closed too soon. But aside from those very minor factors the place is brilliant and the staff are top notch, with a spectacular layout and atmosphere. The indoor oasis is a great touch too especially for someone who works outdoors in the winter it really creates a great getaway and taste of paradise without having to go far
