Sondra's City Zoo’s storefront is conveniently located at 2022 Lake Road in Elmira, New York. Our store offers fish, pets and supplies at competitive prices. We carry many hard to find items and pets. Our knowledgeable employees pride themselves on customer service and genuine concern for pets.

We specialize in fresh water and salt-water fish, reptiles, birds and small animals. We also sell reef supplies, aquariums, large bird cages, feeder insects, pond supplies, live plants and more.

I love this place. They have a large selection of freshwater, saltwater and coral. Prices are very fair, especially for the coral. The employees are all very knowledgeable for the most part. I have a great experience even when I go just to browse and pick out my next fish/coral. Remember to support your local aquarium stores and pet shops. Sure Amazon might beat their price by a small margin, but being able to get the medicine your fish need the same day can mean the difference between saving your tank or losing all your time and money. They have a reptile room, a bird room, and an area with puppies, bunnies and other small mammals(not my bag). They do a great job taking care of the pets and I am very critical of pet care when I go to shops. These folks genuinely care about these animals and do the best they can, it shows.

I don't like it when I go to the pet store and see animals (in this instance dogs) in pens or cages with no water to drink in their bowls. The bowls were bone dry. If you are going to run a pet store or work at one, that I should think, would be a #1 priority. Animals need constant access to fresh drinking water.(Unless there is a medical reason to deny it). So I dropped my 4 star review to a 1 star. It's unconscionable in my opinion, to see animals neglected in that manner or any matter. So hopefully they will take this review to heart. And correct the situation. I did get them water if you're wondering, they were all extremely thirsty, when their bowls were filled up, they went straight at them.

At Petco it would of cost me $15 for 100 crickets for my Gecko. First time at this place and they were almost $8 for 100 of them. Plus my two toddlers LOVED looking around. Everything is cheaper there!

This place is so cool! There are many animals here, such as guinea pigs, birds, rabbits, ferrets, snakes, lizards, and lots of fish, as well as supplies/materials for these animals. The staff was very friendly and the store is larger than I expected.
