Doug and Mary Lou became the new franchises of Elmira Foodland on November 8th, 2008. Our goal is to give our customers a great shopping experience and to provide customers with excellent service. Been there twice. Had a great experience on both occasion.
We ordered a birthday cake and it was so stale no one would eat it. What a disappointment. They must have used an old cake instead of baking us a fresh one like we ordered. And what are these hard plastic balls on it for? You could chip a tooth! Never again will we order from this store. The old owners were so much better. The corporate store doesn't care.
To many boomers working here can't figure out how to work Google. Drove all the way there to see a piece of paper saying closed. Change it on Google it takes at most 5 min. A lot quicker then my drive there.
Staff is always very nice and friendly. I find the produce is hit or miss. Sometimes there is not alot to choose from and I find fruits and veggies are below average. They go bad really fast I'd they aren't already on the shelf
Nice clean store. Was looking for some strawberries this visit, all packages mouldy fruittotal of 8 packages in shelf. Pricey...scheneiders red hots 6.59. I know groceries are all increasing but wow.
The biggest foodland I've seen, with typically good merchandise and cleanliness.
This store is always very clean and well organized, and the worker's are nice and polite ! I very much enjoyed it as well as found good meat deals! It's refreshing our of town place worth the ride anytime. It's always well stocked, I'll take a ride all the way up there just for the friendliness and a special sandwich they only make and carry, that is until they run out each day, I love it!! I shouldn't have told you about the sandwich called The Dagwood! I think......
Freshly revamped store, everything has moved on the inside aisles. Clean. Bright. Well kept. Nee fresh sushi section front and centre. Gluten free section is still there for freezer items they brought in more brands as well as vegan items. Product section features local produce... Like very local not just Ontario but actual farmer crops in the area. The rest of the GF pantry items is mixed in with regular brands on the inside aisles. ------ April 29 2021 update - they just added two huge garden center tents in the parking lot . See pics for more detail. Lots of hanging baskets and planters to spruce things up and for mother's day. ---- Previous review Clean. Huge gluten free freezer section - like 6 doors worth, including GF lasagna, heat and eats, GF desserts including cheesecakes cupcakes donuts. About 6 or more variety of GF breads, GF pies, GF tarts. Produce is fresh and mainly local where reasonable and expected but anything not local is pricey. Good sales on fresh meat. Hot rotisserie chicken and a few hot dishes to choose from per day as well as premade fresh heat and eat in the deli section. Lots of eco cleaning products detergents and laundry options. Usually lots of cashier's generally speaking during peak hours. Staff interactions have all been friendly so far. If you have a big family or cater there are large can sizes in a specific section in the store. There are also local frozen veg from Tillsonburg! And if you bring your horse and carriage quite literally there is a barn parking for you. If pricing was better they would get a hearty 5 stars.
The new owners have made this store a poor shopping experience
Poor customer service. Don't bother to try to return empty milk jars. They don't give you your money back and just take the money off your grocery bill. Make sure you make it very clear that you say you want a separate transaction. Don't bother talking to the manager because she won't be much help and will only assume you want it like everyone else. Go somewhere else to return bottles.
