CIBC Branch & ATM

I am quite disappointed in the service at this branch. I witnessed a lack of support for a Chinese lady who had trouble speaking English. I'm not going to pretend i understood the situation fully, but the service felt impersonal and had the feeling of "Im too busy to assist you!!" She left the store in a huff, and their response to this was slight chuckles. I normally bank with Vancity and TD and don't ever get this vibe from them. I'm not saying that the workers are terrible or anything. In fact, I am sure they are very helpful and kind on a typical day. However, this specific incident rubbed me the wrong way.

The mortgage stuff did not help. I newer will transfer my mortgage to CIBC. The bank lost clients working with this kind if "specialists" and mortgage managers.

I wanted to have my bank statement printed. A CIBC stuff asked me if it is OK to print on small size papers. I said yes. Then she started printing. Since I need 6 month history, it needs a lot of papers, even though it was printed double sided. Then she mentioned that it usually charges $5 per page. I was astonished. "Why didn't you tell me from the very beginning?" Then she explained to me that, $5 per page is for letter size paper, this time, since it is on small paper, I can get it for free. And finally I was told that the system only let her print 3 months.

Worst experience ever! The staffs are confusing with their own daily job functions! The bank branch manager told me that he will provide me a bank statement showing account balance in a formal letter head as I always requested. He made me wait for two days and gave me a bank letter without any balance showing! What the f***!
