`Chaldecott Park is a delightful community space that offers a slice of nature and tranquility. The dog-friendly area is a bonus for pet owners. While the park lacks extensive facilities like a swimming pool or sports complex, its charm lies in its simplicity and natural beauty. The only downside is limited parking, which can be challenging during peak hours.
Baseball diamond, water park, playground, open fields, and shady areas to sit or picnic - this is a wonderful park to visit. Well-maintained. Green grass during the longest dry spell in Vancouver history. Popular on weekends. Quiet during the week, as to be expected.
My favorite neighborhood park. Playground and huge of field. There are many table and benches around water park and playground. We can eat some foods or have a small party as well. Washroom is fine. For me, I bring my Bluetooth speaker and mat. But there are many of bugs nearby water side.. please keep use anti-insects cream. Great place for nap time.
Chaldecott offers a combination of large playing fields and smaller play areas; large old cedar trees shelter the playground area and rustle moodily on breezy days. During the summer, the spraypark is a popular attraction for children of the neighbourhood.nnOriginally a part of the Municipality of Point Grey before the amalgamation of the city in 1929, this park is named for Francis Miller Chaldecott. Mr. Chaldecott was a lawyer who helped organize the District of South Vancouver where he owned 107 acres and he also owned a half interest in 240 acres in the Point Grey District. Francis Chaldecott died January 24, 1949.
This spacious park has opportunities for a wide range of activities..currently there are two baseball diamonds with very interesting youth baseball games..there are large play areas for children with interesting swing sets…plenty of tables for picnics..then in the fall youth soccer games begin with energetic enthusiasm…then there is the delightful opportunity to cross Crown St and step into the Camosun Bog nature preserve…then there is the water park for fun and delight…
