A big, level, track and field green space with clean bathrooms, a playground, swings, an empty wading pool, and a second soccer/rugby field with a corner for baseball. There are a few benches, but I didn’t see a picnic table. Kids will like climbing on the tree stump sculptures. Enjoy!
`Balaclava Park is a charming spot that promises a refreshing outdoor experience for all age groups. Additionally, the park includes a small but picturesque lake, which is a favorite spot for picnickers and those looking to enjoy a quiet moment by the water. The cleanliness of the park is commendable, and the presence of benches and picnic tables makes it a great spot for a family out
This is quite a large park set in a quiet neighbourhood in the Dunbar area of Vancouver..there are multiple sports events that take place at different times of the year—baseball, soccer, rugby, track and other activities in the sports community areas..this is a great place for those 10,000 steps to be counted or simply sitting on the many bench areas and enjoy the scenery with the North Shore Mountains viewed about the park trees..
This expansive park, located in a quiet neighbourhood, is a pleasant place for walking or jogging. Balaclava’s grassy fields are frequented by sports teams, neighbours, and children alike.nnNamed for an adjacent street, which in turn was named for a famous battle of the Crimean War, Balaclava Park has served as a recreational greenspace since about 1938. Before the City of Vancouver amalgamation in 1929, the Point Grey Municipality had set aside several lots for park purposes but the site was not totally assembled before 1929.nnThe running track at Balaclava was completed in time for the 1954 British Empire Games and served as the number two training facility. The Track and Field Committee for the Games commended the Park Board for the excellent conditions at the track. Later the Board was recognized for providing training facilities at the grassroots level thereby aiding athletes in their achievements of breaking three Canadian and six BC track and field records.
A great place to relax with the whole family and a four-legged friend. Two playgrounds, a sports area and a dog off-leash area. Spacious! Lots of air and light.
