Story

Behind every family owned business there is a unique story. Ours begins in the south of Italy. In 1958 Nicola and Lucia Aiello decided to take the trip across the ocean to build a better life for their family. In 1979 they found themselves on Lincoln St. in Welland, making traditional, homemade Italian food with an American twist. 38 years and 3 locations later, we are still happily serving our customers their favourite dishes!

First time dining on NYE. The food was so good!  This is a small family-run establishment and you can see that an atmosphere of “family” existed with the staff and patrons. We quickly felt welcomed, like my favourite Italian neighbours had me over for dinner.  We did have to wait a bit, even with reservations.  It seems the fixed time seating for NYE wasn’t being observed by one family who came very late for the early seating due to their mix-up on reservation time, and didn’t care that they were impacting our reservation. We still had a nice evening with prompt, attentive service.  We had the mozzarella sticks really more like logs!, another stuffed wonton appetizer, chicken parmesan, rigatoni pasta with chicken in alfredo sauce, a side of tasty meatballs, followed by the funnel straws and tiramisu.  Everything is freshly made, full of flavour, and generous portions.  Got my leftovers for tomorrow. I plan to go back for the lemon chicken and the lasagna soon!

I wouldn't recommend this restaurant for a group of more than 4, the inside is on the smaller side and hard to get around. Squishing between patrons chairs to get to the other side of the room. We came as a group of 13 with a reservation so the restaurant was aware of our group. The set up was a long group of tables pushed together in the center of the room, this would have been fine if there was room to walk between our table and the table behind us, there was not.  We arrived, waited for a few of our party to arrive and then ordered. It took over 1 hour before our entrees started to arrive, one at a time.. 75% of our table was done their food before the others were even brought out theirs and which were incomplete at that. There were multiple tables who arrived after us, that were seated, served and ate before our food arrived. Priority for this restaurant seems to be on pick up orders and delivery servicesskip.nnOur server was less than attentive and seemed to be annoyed by having to serve our group.nnIf your restaurant cannot accommodate a larger group, do not accept a larger group reservations.nnFood was decent, portions are okay. A bit on the higher side for prices.

“My husband and I don’t usually leave reviews, but our experience at CC’s  Dugout Italian Eatery was exceptional and absolutely worth sharing. The food was delicious, flavorful, and so filling—it truly exceeded our expectations. We also had the pleasure of meeting the owner, who is such a beautiful and kind person. Her warm hospitality made our visit even more special. Our waitress was very attentive and helpful, ensuring that everything was perfect throughout the meal. Thank you for a wonderful evening! We’ll definitely be back.

Absolutely amazing food, great quality,  great service! We came because of the reviews we seen and we were not disappointed at all! The famous mozzarella sticks were to die for as was the garlic bread ring. We almost spoiled our entrees but they were just as fabulous! Hats off to the cook and the staff. All around amazing place. We will .take the drive from Hamilton again and again to enjoy our new favorite date spot!!!

My family and I decided to try CC's out for a birthday dinner tonight and it was definitely the wrong decision. We had 11 people in our group which I understand is a larger group but the service we received was really just unacceptable. Our waitress was not friendly, we waited almost an hour for our orders, when the orders were brought out they were all brought out at different times. Half the table was done eating by the time the other half even got there meal. One of us waited so long for their food that some of us had already started ordering dessert.  We had to either go up and wait at the bar for someone, hope the waitress came back out from the back or ask the one other waitor that was working the dining area so we could get refills on our drinks. We had to ask multiple times just for some hot water to warm up a bottle so that that newborn baby that was with us could have their bottle. One of us had to send our food back as it was not as it was described in the menu. And we were still charged for that item aswell. The entire encounter was just made worse by the waitresses attitude. There were other patrons in the restaurant but it wasn't busy. We definitely will not be going back.
