This review is long overdue. I had a fantastic customer service experience at this CT location a couple of months ago. A wonderful young man, Colin, from the Hardware department went above and beyond. I awoke to my carbon monoxide alarm alerting me. I removed the battery and inserted a fresh one but the alarm continued to alert. I knew our detector was a number of years old so suspected the alarm was faulty. Before I resorted to calling the fire department for a potential false call, I locked up, loaded my dog into the car because I wasn’t about to leave him at home and called CT to see whether they had any units in stock. I was connected with Colin and he was beyond helpful. He could hear the panic in my voice, understood that I didn’t want to leave my dog in the car while I went inside the store to shop for a new detector and had a suggestion for me. He checked with his manager whether it would be okay for me to purchase an item online and he would then walk it out to my car in the parking lot! Within mere minutes I had completed the purchase, pulled up to the store and this fab young man came out with my new detector. He also had some friendly pats for my doggy before sending us on our way. Thankfully the new detector was able to confirm there was no CO issue in my home.nColin should be commended for taking the extra steps to ensure my shopping needs were met, for being extra helpful in allowing me to stay in the car with my pet and for taking the time to help quell my concerns. Because of him I have returned to this location several times since. Thank you, Colin, the store is very fortunate to have you as a member of their team!
I had an appointment for new tires to be installed. When it came to the day of the appointment 3 weeks later, I was called an HOUR before the appointment just to be told that they actually didn’t have my tires in stock even though I had been told after making the appointment that they would be set aside for me. I explained that I can’t afford to miss time again for work and was told that the tires would be ready on Monday or even possibly Tuesday I had the appointment the on a Thursday….. it’s Friday of the next week and I still haven’t heard anything from anyone. Already ordered my tires elsewhere…
We recently had our breaks serviced at the Wilson Street Canadian Tire in Oshawa. In most circumstances we would not take our vehicles to a Canadian Tire to be serviced, however due to busy schedules , being able to book a weekend appointment seemed convenient. It wasn't ! We took the earliest morning appointment possible 9am in hopes to have our vehicle returned to us by noon. 3 hours to do a break job seems reasonable. Our car wasnt returned to us until the end of the day 5pm. They claimed they needed to wait for the parts to be delivered from their Pickering location. Since we booked a week in advance why not have the parts there already? What's the point in taking the make and model of the car if not to have the parts ready ahead of time ? Then we got the bill ...Over $500 for labour with No break down in labour hours. They only had to do the front breaks let's say you charge $ 100 per hour How does it take 5 hours to do a front break job !!! Someone must have hit retirement on our vehicle. We have a second vehicle of the same make and model that needed breaks done this weekend. Needless to say we cancelled that appointment and found a local garage that did the same service for much cheaper and they had the car for less than two hours. Please save yourself some money and a headache, don't book here. Take some time off work and book a local garage you'll still save money in the long run.
I bought a tool for this place and it broke and they would not let me return it. I am very disappointed.
I have made several trips to the Wilson Street Canadian Tire in Oshawa. They are so big on service and customer satisfaction. Each trip I make there I leave feeling valued. They give details and ensure the little things are considered. The last time it was to get wiper blades...I must say they are excellent and serving me very well, a big thank you!!
