We had experienced the WORST CUSTOMER SERVICE EVER by the Service Manager Don. My Girlfriend & I purchased winter tires from Canadian Tire on Gibb in Oshawa for both our vehicles, Michelin X-ICE XI2's. These tires are what was recommend to us by the service counter rep. seeing that they score a 98 out a 100 on their rating. After 2 weeks trying the tires we both noticed horrible traction in the snow for both vehicles. I went back to Canadian Tire and complained to have them exchanged with another model or brand and they said there was nothing can do. Canadian Tire refused to help us event though on the receipt it says we had 30 day satisfaction guarantee. Back and forth We spoke to Don the service Manager who degraded my girlfriend when speaking to her on the phone & kept cutting her off. We climbed the ladder and contacted Canadian Tire head office and spoke to Surge who didn't help us much and never returned our calls. We contacted Michelin directly who was amazing to deal with and they even offered to exchange our tires with a different model for free. We just had to pay for installation and balancing which I agree to, HOWEVER, the Service Manager Don at Canadian Tire still refused to exchange our tires even though Michelin agreed to cover the warranty expense & we offered to pay for the install and balancing. As a result Active Green & Ross in Whitby exchange our tires under the Michelin's warranty. Active Green and Ross even questioned why anyone would have suggested the Michelin x-ice xi2's for a truck. Active Green and Ross would have suggested a different tire right from the begging. We are completely disgusted with the customer service skills Don, Surge and Canadian Tire team have to offer. Never again will we ever purchase tires from Canadian Tire and will never refer any of our friends or family to this location for tires. GO TO ACTIVE GREEN AND ROSS IN WHITBY FOR TIRES.

Yesterday we made an arrangement to have winter tires purchased, balanced and installed on to our vehicle. While yesterday's experience was a good one, today was a different story. We came in and were told the tires and rims were ready to be installed and that it would be approximately 1.5 hours. After over 1.5 hours, we returned to find out that the car had not been moved from it's spot and the file had been misplaced. The issue here was the lack of ownership and haphazard approach that the representative took in telling us what had happened. At first he tried to put the blame on the fact that the time estimated was in fact only an estimate. But when confronted with the fact that they were scrambling to even find the work order, he defaulted to "I don't know what happened". As a consumer, please be aware that this Canadian Tire location has representatives that do not care about your vehicle, your time, or the fact that you are dropping 1000+ dollars at their store. If we did not return for 4 hours, I am confident that the job still would not have been completed due to the misplacing of our work order. Maybe it is time to start shopping at the locally owned shops who value a person's time and money.

I spent $600 to fix my oil leak for 5 years Hyundai fe last year. After 2 days, there was still little oil leak. Then I went to another Canadian tire in yonge & steel. Firstly they asked me to back to Oshawa but I tried to argue they are chain store. Then the lady boss said she will do me a favor but asked me to extra $80 to clean engineer, otherwise they cannot see clearly why there was leak. OK. I paid. After two hours, they said I have to pay another $2500 to fix all oil leak. Finally I gave up repair and went to Hyundai dealership for sale. Surprisingly they checked the car and bought it as $9000. Obviously Hyundai is more professional about their own car. I was cheat twice by two Canadian Tire shop.

excellent store..AAAAA+++ Jimmy is a fantastic manager and his store has amazing deals...go check it out!...they treat people proper! Best deals and best warranty, this location number #1 for management and staff..vote Jimmy next premier of Ontario?...go to this store and imagine if Mr Wynne ran Ontario this way..organized, appealing, accommodating, clean, respectful and easy to understand. Canadian Tire is a part of Canadian history, Jimmy and his awesome staff make me proud to support this Canadian legacy.

Absolute waste of money bringing your car in for service. I brought my car in for a starter that was going. They told me there was nothing wrong with my starter, but charged me $150 to replace the battery connectors. A week later the starter went and I had to have my car towed to a REAL garage. Don't waste your time.
