Great experience! We bought a Thule bike rack and saved $80 from the price posted on their website. I didn't get her name, but the young woman who helped us out and answered our questions was awesome. I also appreciated the all things bike related chat with Alex in the bike department. A very knowledgeable and friendly young man.

Love this place. Knowledgable employees who are willing to help. I struggled to buy a bag for a couple weeks that would fit everything but also didn't want it to cost an arm and a leg. Employee asked a lot of questions of what I would be packing, suggested I get the 48 over the 38, showed me how to adjust everything, and even helped me try the bag on with weights. I told her if she doesn't see me back in the store to return it, that's a good sign. I haven't been back, and I can't wait to use this bag on many trips to come! :

This place has unbelievably good customer service. I walked in with very little knowledge of road bikes after doing some research prior to visiting the store. I had a particular bike in mind but Mike helped me find a better and more affordable fit. He was knowledgeable, friendly and clearly had the customer’s best interest as his number one priority. I can’t imagine a better bike shopping experience in the Ottawa region and encourage anyone looking for a new bike to check this place out. Thanks again to Mike and the Bushtukah team!

I am planning a mountaineering expedition to climb the 5 tallest volcanoes in Ecuador. A couple years ago my husband and I climbed Kilimanjaro, which was amazing. Since I run cold and the weather in Ecuador can be cold, windy, raining or warm during the expedition, I wanted to make sure I was fully equipped. Sharon was incredibly knowledgeable at helping me go through several options until I was satisfied with the gear I chose. She had extensive knowledge and experience with the various brands of base and mid-layers, puffy jackets, outer shells and gloves/mitts to help me with my decisions. It is so great that the employees at this store speak from experience and are so knowledgeable about their products. We certainly will not hesitate to go back for the rest of our gear on our list!

Outstanding service! These guys know their stuff and are eager to help and share their expertise. I recently got into road/gravel biking but did not know anything about the technology and options out there. They were patient and helped me upgrade my bike to suit the type of riding I wanted to do, and even got me fitted properly so the bike fits like a glove. And when I wanted to try out cross country skiing, they helped equip me with the right gear and clothing - without going overboard for a beginner. Highly recommended.

Highly recommend. I bought hiking boots and crampons today. The sales associate, Branden, was incredibly helpful and patient. He clearly knowledable about the pros and cons of the different brands and was able to make intelligent recommendations to meet the needs of mu budget and the activities I wanted to engage in. The prices were also good. Overall, great experience.

I cannot praise them enough! As an avid backpacker, let me tell you, this store is amazing. They have everything you cannot find at bigger outdoor stores. Plus the customer service is amazing. The wrong item was shipped in my last online order we are all humans, it can happen and in 24 hours, even before I had time to go to the post office to ship the incorrect one, they already send me the right size. . Talk about an amazing experience!

I had a great experience with the bike department here! I was doing bike repairs at home and was unable to remove my cassette from my wheel. It was unfortunately really really stuck. I had gone to a number of bike shops in Ottawa and no one had been able to take it off. I was helped by Dylan and Sam and they were both super patient, kind and helpful and miracoulously Sam was able to remove the cassette! Great service and excellent bike mechanics!

Update: went to get some XC skis on Saturday and I gotta say the two staff members trying to help me were pretty useless. I was educating them lol… so dropping this to a 4 star Great shop with lots of selection and super helpful staff zero pressure sales. Most staff not only know the products well, but are outdoors enthusiasts themselves who actually use the products and are eager to share their expertise/experience the good and the bad.

Brendon was absolutely amazing to deal with! He knows the products inside and out, he truly didn’t feel like your typical salesman that doesn’t care. He really had me in mind with his recommendations. Thank you again Brendon!
