Came here for brunch on a Saturday. It was a little busy but not too bad! We were seated at the bar. Our bartender was so young but so sweet. We taught him the ways of DC brunch and how to make a DC mimosa - 90% champagne and 10% juice! I got the chicken and waffles which were delicious and the fruit was perfect. Only reason for 4 stars is that they could have used another bartender as there were times we had to wait a bit for drink refills. But overall, fun experience!
Overall a great place for brunch, especially if you have time for bottomless mimosas. Came in for Saturday brunch. The decor and ambience were amazing. Staff was very nice and accommodated the fact that we came a bit earlier for our reservation. Bottomless mimosas are nice and drinks overall were really good. The food itself was pretty good. Took a long time to come out and my Benedict was a bit overdone.
I won't lie I had an amazing experience at this hotel/venue! I was here for a work party which was catered. The restaurant was decorated perfectly with just the right amount of light. The food was excellent, with a great menu and all perfectly cooked food. The bar staff was fast and friendly and was very knowledgeable about different drinks. I'd recommend it to anyone looking for a great party venue. Or stop by on a regular day. Thanks for the great experience!!
I really wanted to like this place. It is beautiful architecturally, and maybe if we had come in for brunch off the street versus having a brunch reception that was reserved, we would of had a different experience. Unfortunately, no one in our party got food at the same time, half the group was finished their plates before the other half got their food. When it did arrive it was cold and a little underwhelming. Toast wasn't even buttered. Brunch cocktails were delicious though. I'd definitely go back for those alone. This is in no way reflective of the staff, that were super sweet and attempted to accommodate us in all things. They get 5 stars. I hope to give this place another chance soon.
We walked in for lunch & realized the kitchen was about to close. However Elsa was very nice to sit us down & promptly take our order so that the chef was still able to make the food before closing. The cocktails were excellent & the Poutine is a must try. Contrary to what some others have said, we enjoyed ourselves & have no complaints.
Our 1st trip to Montreal. My husband and I went to this restaurant to celebrate our wedding anniversary Everything was great. The place in general is cozy and romantic. The staff were so friendly. The steak was so delicious. Highly recommended
Appetizer 9/10 Main course 8/10 Dessert 10/10 Appetizer was delicious, with appropriate proportions. Main course was good. The pork tenderloin was served with warm squash, asparagus, and brussel sprouts. The tenderloin itself was pretty good, but the main star of the dish was the squash. The squash was prepared perfectly, it was warm, creamy, and delicious. Moving onto dessert... Normally, I never get dessert at restaurants because I'm usually full from the main course, they're usually overpriced and not that great, but we decided to try out two of their desserts even though we were stuffed from the main meal. I've never truly appreciated how we develop second stomachs for desserts until I had my first bite. It was phenomenal. Everything from the presentation, the taste, the textures, it was all breathtakingly delicious. 10/10 highly recommend the dessert!
Brasserie 701 offers a charming atmosphere and a good sense of privacy. I went there for a corporate lunch and we got a special menu for the occasion, so I can’t comment about their regular dishes. The service wasn’t great. Some orders got mixed up, some plates were missing ingredients like some burgers came with pickles while others didn’t, and the servers seemed a little overwhelmed although we were less than 20 people. I’d be curious to go there for dinner and maybe drinks.
We had a wonderful Christmas evening dinner at this place!! Everything tasted and looked tempting!! The restaurant decorated classy, perfect for holiday dinner or romantic nights. Service was amazing! We only got Christmas dinner menu, so unfortunately we couldn’t try more. But I will definitely come back in a non holiday season to try their other cuisines from the regular menu. One more things to improve, a medium rare stake can be cooked more moist. Mine was a bit dry and chewy.
This was such a lovely dining experience! It's been a while since I had a brunch this tasty and visually appealing! All of our plates were clean the smoked salmon was a little tough, but I was still able to enjoy it.Food: 5/5
