What an adorable place in Unionville! This bakery has such mouth-watering and beautiful ice cream cakes; it's a slightly hard exterior that hosts a creamy filling that is perfect for a light snack throughout the day. The bakery also has an upstairs floor for customers to sit and lounge, which looks really cute and minimalistic. While I've only been here once, I would love to drop by a second time to this awesome dessert destination!
Had the greatest time at this cafe for high tea. It was quiet, the upstairs area was small but had lots of space between the tables. The selection of sweet and savoury desserts were so cute and delicious and definitely instagram photo worthy. I also liked their selection of teas and went with an Asian tea which paired really nicely with the treats. The nice lady behind the counter was also very attentive, gave us lots of privacy but also periodically came to check in on us to see if we needed anything else. Highly recommend this hidden gem on Main St.!
What’s better than icecream for a hot Summer day! It’s liked tonsssa of icecream shops around main street unionville. So we are trying this relatively new artisan icecream shop this time. The mini icecream cake is definitely an edible artwork. The flavour I chose lavender is probably the best lavender icecream I’ve had by far. Perhaps I don’t like those lavender icecream in the farms. I do recommend to try it once before you leave the shop. Staff is nice and she showed us that there is upstairs seatings available. Also they serve icecream in a regular cone or cup as well if you don’t prefer to have a fancy icecream cake.
Loved our cake! It was so beautiful and delicious. I got the 7" Chocolate Caramel Truffle ice cream cake for my son's birthday with custom colours. Was going for a space/moon theme and referenced a design on the Instagram account. It turned out amazing. Birthday boy was happy with the cake and everyone enjoyed it! Looking forward to ordering another one for little brother's birthday next.
Their cakes are beautiful and absolutely delicious. I ordered the 7 inch Raspberry Lemonade with custom glaze for a friend's birthday and it was a huge hit! The cake looks even better in real life than in the photos. I highly recommend Boreal if you want something special. Also stopped by for Happy Hour and had their London Fog mini cake + drink for $10 and holy hell, was it good. Someday I might stop by and just sample each and every one of their cakes with a friend or something!
Cute cafe with very cute ice creams. I liked mango mini ice cream, the raspberry lemon sorbet was little too sour for my liking but it was good. There a cute sitting room on top floor where you can click instagram worthy photos I definitely would love to try more next time.
Cakes are super cute and the flavours on point! Each cake is the about the size of a closed fist, which is PERFECT since no other place carries 'snackable' ice cream cakes! They also carry normal scoop ice cream in some fun flavours such as strawberry pocky and Hojicha, and in tub pints to take home. The small seating area above only has about 4 tables that sit 2, but it's very clean and very private. For cakes I recommend the 3CD as it's basically coffee ice cream with a cookie base and the raspberry cheesecake sorbet - both were delicious. The yuzu soda also wasn't bad and tasted like a lemon/citrus soda
This is my second visit to this cute and cozy ice cream cafe. The ice cream cakes and ice cream flavors are so good and so creative. Me and my husband lived in NYC for eighteen years, this little creamery reminds me of the quaint little eateries in the West Village. Very downtown neighborhood friendly feel. We tried the Yuzu, Lavender, Campfire Smoke flavor ice cream, and Raspberry Lemonade, Black Sesame ice cream mini cake. Delicious Will come again
Super cute dessert place! They only recently opened but have already a well established fanbase myself included!. Boréal Gâteau specializes in ice cream and ice cream cakes, having a wide variety of flavours, including smoked tea which tastes like bacon, strangely enough and ribena sorbet. I highly recommend their lavender or matcha flavours for regular ice cream, but definitely go for the mango passion for a cake. They also offer beverages, like coffee and hot chocolate. I strongly, strongly recommend getting their black sesame latte - it's the best I've ever had!
Update: went back and bought a dozen of their mini ice cream cakes... I really wanted to be blown away, sadly, I'm quite disappointed in the flavors.... I think their near perfect rating had elevated my expectations too much. Won't be coming back Original: Went to support this local bakery/creamery in Unionville mainatreet. Tried their icecream, very interesting flavor profiles... will try their cakes next time
