Roji Monster Ice Cream

This is not your usual dessert place! Their signature Monster ice cream is actually shaved ice but it is still great. Portion is big, so if you just finish dinner and wanted dessert right the way, order 1 and share it with someone. You can choose different toppings so kids will love it. They do have a small selection of cakes and other kinds of sweets other than the Monster ice cream. They also have drinks like tea and latte. Staffs are friendly here and they will explain how to order if this is your first visit. Parking can be a challenge during lunch or dinner house. Overall it still a great place to hang out with friends. Kid-friendliness: Kids will love this monster themed restaurant.

I've been to Roji Monster before and I loved the soft serve. This time we came back for dessert only and got 1 to share as it's quite a lot for one person. The dessert is cute but I personally prefer their soft serve more. I like that you have options for toppings as side and serving looks great. However, the sides are very small portions. The atmosphere is great and we love the seating arrangements. The parking is horrible. There's limited parking and it's annoying to find/hard to find which turns me off from coming. Service was quite slow and I wasn't sure if someone was gonna come take the order or if we had to order up front. It also took quite some time to get our order. Perhaps it's understaffed as there was only one person at cash and the place was full. Another thing that I found disgusting is that there were takeout boxes stacked in the bathroom for storage. That's not very hygienic and I feel like there should be other places to keep such items that are used for food. Kid-friendliness: Kids love it

Small but cozy place to have unique looking desserts that my family enjoyed. The ice cream tasted light and not too sweet. It takes time to prepare the desserts, which is understandable. So if you bring kids make sure they pack a lot of patience waiting, too.

Cutest dessert ever and it tastes amazing too. My partner and I both tried the Monster Ice Cream. I got the milk flavour and he got the hojicha. They are so cute you almost don’t want to eat them. The flavour is spot on - and not too sweet which was perfect. You also get two sides to go alongside the ice cream. Pick carefully as they have many options. But who can resist sprinkles and cornflakes?

A very quaint and cozy spot inside a strip mall. The interior is very cute and woodsy with little monsters around. It did take some time to prepare each ice cream, so there was a bit of a wait. If you come with a family be prepared that it may take a little longer and that your dishes will not come all at once. The ice creams are super unique and beautifully plated. You can choose from a variety of side toppings and a good option of flavors. The texture of the ice cream is definitely more on the icy side, and so sometimes the flavor gets a little lost. Love their green tea ice cream! It is so creamy & taste like they use high quality matcha powder. Tried their basic oden. It's a savory dish with different types of fish cakes in it with mushrooms & kombu in a dashi broth. Found this nice for a chilly day however nothing that can't be replicated at home so likely would not get again. The decor is cute & the storefront is small but has sufficient cozy seating. They also have one table that is your traditional Japanese style dining. They are a bit slow there in pushing orders out. Was two tables there when I arrived & we all ordered around the same time. Took about 20 minutes for everyone's order to come. The one lady in the front was polite in just doing her job but not super friendly or talkative.

Cute and aesthetic dessert spot. The desserts were plated nicely. Very adorable and great for pictures! The desserts tasted not bad. Portions were a bit small.

Great vibe to sit and catch up with friends! However, portion sizes and prices are not worth it. I planned to share the monster ice cream shaved ice with my friend as the sizes on the menu looked much bigger, and was disappointed by the portion sizes, especially with the price attached to it. The taste was also only okay. The matcha bingsu tasted more like green tea, but paired well with the oreo crumbs. The daango sticky rice balls were very bland even after being paired with the red beans and savory sauce. The food was aesthetic to look at it though!

The dessert are not only photogenic, they are delicious too! I am usually skeptical about cute dessert places but Roji is truly enjoyable. The place is cozy, minimalist style but every menu item we ordered was made with care and the flavors are delicate and tasty. We had the black sesame shaved ice with Dango and hijicha jelly, matcha jelly, and handmade pineapple cake. The tea flavors are robust in the jellies and paired well with our shaved ice. The pineapple cake was rich and flavorful, a great little bite on their own! I also had the marshmallow hojicha latte. You can choose ANY of their lattes for the marshmallow latte which is a bonus. The hojicha latte itself was unsweetened and the cute marchmallow lightly sweetened it to the perfect level, while my boyfriend's matcha latte no marshmallow was lightly sweetened so it can be enjoyed with the delicate desserts without overpowering them. That is just one of the examples of the attention to details they put in their offerings. I will definitely be visiting again to try their other menu items.
