Story

Blumz by JRDesigns is an award winning event planning and floral design company with two full service locations in Ferndale and Detroit Michigan. Co-owners Jerome Raska and Robbin Yelverton opened their first store in Detroit Michigan over 15 years ago and have watched their business grow and flourish. Together the owners have over 60 years of combined experience in the industry and bring a unique perspective to floral, wedding,event planning and design. Jerome and Robbin are also internationally respected educators and presenters within their field.
From the initial planning stages to curtain call and strike, Blumz is beside you every step of the way, we are truly a “one stop shop” . We can assist you with everything from florals, linens, rentals, invitations, lighting, tenting, tuxedos and more. We even have an in-house wedding officiant on staff! Our team prides itself on being very flexible, open to the bride’s wishes and creative in our approach. There is no minimum budget required for Blumz to accept an event or wedding, our goal is to make your vision come to life.

Just the absolute best. We had a lot of different venues to be addressed and Megan went over and above to make sure I could rest assured she will make sure it could all happen and she did not disappoint. What beautiful flower arrangements from the table settings (tons of compliments from guests) to my daughters gorgeous bouquet. From the time we met with Megan and the designer, my daughter just explained the look and feel she wanted and the colors and they took that and ran with it all the way to the finish line to get the gold. I cannot express enough how great the experience was. All the things you want in a florist high quality product and great customer service.

Great across the board. Product quality, friendly communication and delivery all 5 stars. 4 stars because after providing pictures for what I was looking for, they did not adequately describe what they would not be able to replicate. They built a great product in its own right, but felt they were not active about describing what could not match the sample images when they knew better. Regardless, I would definitely use them again.

Review of Blumz by J.R. Designs Listed by the Sawyer-Fuller Funeral Home as a local service. Summary: Failed to deliver as promised. Lied about the delivery time. Unorganized. Poor customer service. I advise highly against using their services if you want what you order to arrive at the right place at the right time. Detail: Blumz promised to deliver flowers for a visitation on Friday at 6:00 PM. The plan was to have the flowers for the visitation Friday and the service on Saturday. The flowers weren’t delivered on Friday or on Saturday in time for the service. After realizing the flowers weren’t at the service, I called Blumz around 12:15 on Saturday. They said the flowers were on the truck and would be delivered by 6:00 PM that evening. I informed them that they were supposed to have been delivered at 6:00 PM the previous evening. They apologized and said they would have them at the funeral home before the service started at 1:00 PM. The flowers arrived at 1:15 and thus were unavailable for both the visitation and service. I contacted Blumz after the service to request a refund and was told that the flowers had been delivered before the service started. I called the funeral home to confirm the timing and they said the flowers had been delivered at 1:15 PM…15 minutes after the funeral started. Blumz later confirmed that this was correct. They initially said that no refund would be allowed as the flowers had been delivered. They later provided a 25% discount. It seems that they felt taking 25% of the responsibility for missing 100% of their promises (both the Friday and Saturday events), was adequate customer service. I’m disappointed that Blumz did not fulfill either one of the commitments they made and then chose not to take responsibility. Even though they were very nice while taking the order, their inability to do what they said they would do and then their complete lack of customer service ensures that I will never rely on their services again.

I cannot say enough about the service !!!! Not to mention the sheer beauty, art, and talent that goes into each arrangement. I will not send flowers from any other florist! Ever notice how each place (even old standbys you remember from your childhood) all offer the same arrangements?? This place offers guaranteed unique and beautiful arrangements that your recipient will not receive doubles of. If you set out to find something you cannot find elsewhere - Do yourself a favor and look here! They could not deliver our arrangements to our friend as he was in intensive care. They checked daily for about a week to find out when he could get them - then emailed me to let me know! LOVE LOVE LOVE them!
