Bluebird Barbecue

The beef brisket was melt-in-your-mouth awesome! If a place can make mac and cheese divine, you know everything else they make is going to be good. A bit pricey for dinner, but the quality of the food is really good and is something I would splurge on for special occasions. Highly recommended!

A few years ago I discovered this place and loved the food. I came every 6 months before Covid. It's been a few years since I've been there. The food has changed. Mac and cheese, mashed potatoes, and wings are not the same. The only thing we liked were the wings. It's now super expensive to eat there and it was a big disappointment for us. It's very sad because it was so delicious before. We will not come back unfortunately.

What an amazing find!!! We stopped in for dinner during our vacation and loved Bluebird! Beautiful building, wonderful decor, friendly staff and the BEST BBQ!! We loved that they even offer a vegan choice for the non meat eaters!nnWhat our table got:nnThe meat eater:nBrisket plate - the meat was cooked perfectly & flavored Great! Generous portion!nCharred broccoli- fresh & cooked perfect!nMac n cheese- cheese was super dense, cheesy & delicious!nnThe Vegan :nSeitan /mushrooms- delicious!!!! I have had lots of seitan dishes but this was perfect! Flavored amazing with the BBQ sauce, grilled onions & fresh oyster mushrooms!nVegan baked beans- was excited to find their beans are meat free! Super delicious with maple & generous serving!nnMost of the BBQ places we have dined in always skimps on portions but this place gives TONS! We each had plenty of left overs after eating. Bluebird is a high end, high quality, local sourced BBQ place you do not want to miss out on! You can really tell the quality, taste & care that goes into the food here!

Haven't had a truly bad restaurant experience in VT so far this year but then we got around to ordering from Bluebird. We were excited to try a number of items. We ordered the cornbread muffins, the basket of fries, pulled pork sandwich, pork spare ribs with mac and cheese and baked beans, and lastly we got the smoked mushroom and seitan with the braised greens and charred broccoli. The french fries, the seitan, the pulled pork were the highlights of what we ordered although the mushroom seitan dish had very small portions. The rack of ribs was just 6 smaller ribs even though it was 32 dollars. This takes me to the worst part about the experience. Our friend told us to order takeout as dining at the restaurant takes a long time to wait for the food. We ordered online and waited 30 minutes and arrived 10 minutes early to the restaurant for the 6:45 estimated pick up. We didn't have the food in the car until 7:30. I tend to be a patient person but that was really disappointing. The worst part is it was clear 1 item must've taken longer because all of the food was cold. And we live 5 minutes away in Burlington. Won't be dining here again in the future.

Mixed feelings on my experience. I was very excited to try based on the reviews. Started off our meal with the muffins and buffalo wings which were amazing. The honey butter was a great touch and the wings were packed with flavor and crispy.nnFor entrees we had the half rack of ribs slaw and Mac for sides and the smoked mushroom hoagie.nnThe ribs were unfortunately very dry and the sides both lacked seasoning. The Mac and a cheese could’ve been a bit more creamy as it also was very dry at the top.nnAdding some of the sauce helped the ribs but it still wasn’t up to par with other bbq restaurants that I’ve recently visited.
