It is just so terrible and stressful when the doors of train are just about to close and people walk so slowly as you are trying to enter to secure your spot. If the door closes on you it is so scary. People need to realize they need to stop taking their sweet time as there are people behind them.
I found the station generally clean and well-maintained, but the layout is frustrating and inefficient. I'm sure this is due to constraints during construction but it winds up feeling more like two stations stapled together than one seamless experience.
Many people like to complain about the TTC, but I'd argue that's the case because it's relevant to daily life. Bloor / Yonge is the busiest station in all of Canada, being a major interchange point between Line 1 yellow line along Yonge and Line 2 green line along Bloor-Danforth. If there's a subway delay, there will be heavy overcrowding. Otherwise, it serves its function. There is a relatively well-maintained washroom on the southbound platform of Line 1.
Its crowded, smelly, hot. And generally just unpleasant. The washroom is gross, and usually has some form of homeless person living in one of the stalls. Yonge Station on Line 2 gets so busy you risk falling off the edge if you're not careful. But there are plans to modernize and expand the Station... in 2 years... which will take 10 years. But it could always be worse.
One of the busiest TTC Subway Station. It's Interchange Terminal Station.nTTC Line 1 & Line 2 intersection called Bloor and Yonge Station. Easy access from Line 1 Northbound and Southbound to Line 2 Eastbound and Westbound Train level. Inside Public washroom, lotto booth and convenience store are okay.. Overall downtown terminal station is good. Wheelchair accessibility entrance and Elevator facilities are great.nThis station going with 1 Billion dollars Capacity Improvements soon.nStation have 4 entrance to get to the train Levels. 2 entrance from Bloor and 2 from Yonge street.nNo Buses running from the station. Night buses on Bloor street and Yonge street. Also Yonge street bus running North and South.
