We visited Lower Bay Subway Station as a part of DoorsOpen 2024 and it was very well-organized. All the guides were knowledgeable and helpful and friendly.nnIt was really nice to travel in time and see how things were run not very long time ago. There were subway cars in the station for you to go inside, explore and take pictures. There were also posters available talking about the history of TTC, subway lines and stations and how streetcars improved during time.
Lower Bay Station is a closed and unused subway station below the Bay Yorkville station. It is used for movie shoots, special events, and things of that nature. As well, the TTC uses this for their Halloween fest once a year as part of the United Way campaign. Sometimes it can be accessed through the doors open in Toronto event as well. Many movie scenes have been shot in this location. The Halloween event is definitely one worth checking out.
There's a lower station underneath the one in use which is closed for film productions. You would be surprised to know how many movie scenes were shot here
I lost my wallet yesterday at Kennedy station. When I go to the Bay station today, the lost article department said it will take 3 business days for me to get that. I was crying outside, two fare inspector asked me if I was okay. I said them what I was going through. They heard me with patience and console me. They even gave me there code for a day incase I get ticket for using student presto without student verification ID, as my ID was in my wallet. The gentleman in the booth was listening to us. He asked me the detailed about the wallet and called to the Kennedy Station. Luckily, it was there. I don't know his name, but he was not less than a superhero to me. Thank you so much sir. Thanks to the two fare inspector. Thank you TTC. You make me feel safe.
This line 2 station serves the area around yourkville village and it is utilized by some of the University of Toronto students. The station is a bit dated and has a central island platform surrounded by the west and east bound tracks. From the east end of the platform you can connect via underground pathways all the way to young and bloor station. The journey is not as glamorous as the one done inside the Path system in the central business district, but never the less can facilitate the walk during less than ideal weather.
