I went to Black Sheep with my friend on a Wednesday night, and they were playing techno music, which was quite exciting. The atmosphere was lively and crowded, with a lot of people immersed in the music and enjoying themselves. However, there was one thing that really bothered me – the bartender taking the liberty to automatically include tips for herself on the bill. Naturally, I would have left a tip regardless, but I strongly believe that the choice of tipping should be left to the customer. It's an essential aspect of customer service that allows patrons to express their satisfaction based on the service they received.
We were looking for something yummy and not too pricey. We came in thinking it was a tavern, but the host asked us if we were okay qith sitting upstairs. To our pleasant surprise, the second floor was this beautiful loft type layout with comfy and calming vibes. We were treated well, they have an amazing non alcoholic cocktail menu too and the food is honestly amazing, fresh and well thought out. I had the cob salf and added chicken and it was the best salad I've had at a restaurant. All ingredients were so fresh, paired well, blue cheese was great amd the chicken was cooked so tenderly. Next time I go to Toronto for a concert I'm going here. Staff were wonderful as well.
Excellent service & tasty food! We enjoyed our visit from start to finish, the staff was very friendly & attentive. The manager Sebastian was a pleasure, he came by to check on us throughout our visit. We ordered a couple appetizers; the Calamari was absolutely delicious, it was crispy with a little kick at the end. For our mains we picked the Oysters on Half Shell & the Lamb Chops. The oysters were very fresh & came with all the garnishes. The Lamb Chops were flavourful & tender. As for the desserts, I recommend the Butter Tart. I am very happy with my first visit to Black Sheep, I recommend checking it out on your next date night or dinner with friends. 10/10
probably the worst restaurant I have ever been too. We were originally recommended this place by family friends and extremely excited to go. When we got there, we were seated and then ignored for 30 minutes, until we went to a server and asked for menus. And that took another 10 minutes to come. Our server came to us once took our order, then ignored us for the rest of our stay. The food took over an hour to come and all we ordered was fries, and a chicken sandwich. The fries came out very cold, and the sandwich fell apart in our hands. We had to go to the bar and personally order our drinks after many failed attempts to get our waitresses attention. We asked for the bill serveral times, but ultimately was not surprised it took another 20 minutes for the bill to come. It caused us to be late to our concert, missing out on the opening act which we told our waitress many times is the reason we need the bill. I am highly disappointed on the way we were treated, and the service provided. If you are looking for a restaurant to go to before an event, or even just for lesuire: this is not the place. Save your money and go elsewhere.
Had quite a disappointing experience at this place. Stopped by to grab some drinks, and at first everything was going very well - the patio on the third floor, quite cozy, music and decor were very nice, and our waitress was friendly and helpful. Although, when the food arrived - it wasn’t good at all. Chicken bites were 80% batter, sausage roll and fries were mediocre at best not sure how you make fries NOT tasty... The cocktails were OK - I think my negroni was rather light on gin, but then it’s just my taste. The worst part of the evening was that after we received our initial order - the waitress just forgot about us. She didn’t check on us a single time in >40 mins, and in 5 times she was walking around the patio and I was waiving to get her attention - I was simply ghosted, so ended up not even getting to the second drink and leaving. Overall an okay place, but was not a pleasant experience for us.
My friend and I stopped here for drinks and dessert on a Friday evening. It was not busy at all and we got the outdoor patio to ourselves. Lovely decor and great servers. The Queen Bee drink was one of the best drinks I’ve ever had. Super sweet and stronger when you add the Prosecco provided. The Galette cake that is paired with it was awfully dry. Our server said that you’re supposed to pour the Prosecco on it to moisten it but it didn’t help too much. My friend ordered the Vagabond with tasted like BBQ water but if you like Mexcal you may enjoy this drink. Overall we would return to maybe grab food but drinks and dessert are hit or miss.
Worst service I’ve received in a long time. When we arrived we waited to be greeted and seated for about 10 minutes. We ordered food and drinks and when the server dropped off our drinks gave us one incorrect drink so had to return with the right one. Then dropped off food and they had run out of what my friend ordered so he said I’ll be back to get your order. After more than 35 minutes he never returned. We asked two servers if we could order something no one came to our table and helped us. Terrible service. Wouldn’t recommend this place at all. Food and drinks: were very mediocre. They had a long list of items that were not available to eat or drink.
It was an absolute blast! The oysters were so good! I've travelled the world eating oysters and these were the best locally! And 5 -7pm they have a happy hour with buck a shuck and $40 dollar bottle of bubbles!
Dropped in for the Secret Society Wednesday Social. Was not disappointed! Tasty food, nice spirit selection, wonderful ambience, and a very friendly staff. Can't wait to go back when the patio is open!
We hosted a work event at Black Sheep and it went absolutely seamlessly. The team was extremely responsive and professional - our guests had a lovely time. The drinks, food and atmosphere are great - I highly recommend hosting your next event here!
