Uber quick and efficient service! They also have one of the better wanton noodles around. Personally i would prefer the noodles to smell less strong but it is still acceptable. The cuttlefish ball is delicious and the soup is also very flavourful. Price is reasonable for the portion.
For those who are familiar with the Authentic Hong Kong Style Wontons, Noodles with Broth, and Dumplings from Hong Kong in the 1970s, you do not want to pass up on this place. We’re visiting from out of town and we have stopped by this place every single day on our trip. The taste and texture of the food are exactly what I remember from those at Hong Kong in the 1970s. We were never able to find anything so authentic on the greater New York Area in the U.S.. The staff is extremely friendly and knowledgeable. The food from this place is so good that we have ordered hundreds of dollar worth of food for driving them back home to the U.A. The next day. Keep up the great stuff, and thanks for days of wonderful experience!!!
Was surprised to find this place in the plaza. We were at T&T picking up some fruits and wanted a quick bite. Pleasantly surprised! Delicious wonton noodles. The noodles were cooked perfectly and the wontons and shui gao were delicious. Their chili oil is . They do close fairly early and the night we were there they were actually closing earlier than their stated time and turned away a lot of customers who were quite surprised.
We went to Big Trio Wonton Noodle at Unionville on a weekend around dinner time. We got a few dishes, they all had two toppings so it was $10.50 per bowl, if you just got one topping ex. shrimp wonton noodle in soup then it was just be $10. The Lo Mien with two toppings was $11.50, but it comes with a whole bowl of soup on the side. The wontons are classics and the egg noodles were so fresh and chewy. I was surprised at how much I would like the dace fish balls, they were really big and flavourful skip if you don’t like fish. The beef slices were also very tender and worth a try. The waiters were nice and efficient. The dishes were so big and tasty. It was also a great price point. Definitely a place worth coming back to!
This place has a lot to like, with fast service with reasonable pricing to delicious classic hk style noodles. I definitely can get my fix of hk noodles here! A nice simple menu thats easy to understand and straight forward. Wontons definitely are very plump and filled with fresh ingredients. I personally prefer the pork and shrimp dumplings because I find them to be more flavourful given theres pork in it as well as wood ear which gives it that textural contrast. Either way, both are well composed and good balance in flavour. Can taste the shrimp throughout with a hint of chinese seasoning and sweetness. The noodles are well cooked. I like the yellow noodles with my wontons, but would opt for the flat noodles if I'm ordering beef brisket. Both are nicely cooked and not mushy/ overcooked that it splits apart. In terms of the brisket, nice big chunks and tender as well. The soup base for this is very fragrant and I honestly can probably drink it all. Nice beef flavours with soy. Rich but not oily or heavy. The beef stomach, which is a love of mine, is texturally present with a good chew but still soft to eat. Highly recommend if you like the offals! They also make dace fish balls and cuttlefish balls, which both are springy and full of the flavours as described. A nice change. Lastly, I highly recommend their jajang noodles, which is a mildy spicy meat sauce with their noodles. It has a hint of spiciness from the chili oil, but also some sweetness shining through, then a little bit of sour which completes the dish! Good pork pieces and I believe some mushrooms to add to the flavours. Well marinated and flavoured overall. Would definitely come back. Even for takeout it's quite hot and keeps temperature well. Everything is fresh too and so great option for a quick meal any time of the day.
Classic, no frills restaurant for wonton noodle soup. Beef brisket and deep fried fish skin are also amazing. Their chili oil is spicy! Service was polite and attentive, I appreciate they were patient and spoke English.Food: 5/5
Tasty comfort food. Consistency flavour. Those those who love chilli, add a teaspoon to enhance the flavour otherwise still taste as good
Recent Visit Haven’t been to Big Trio for a while. The service was still good but the taste of my favourite cuttlefish balls have changed. It used to be very chewy and full of cuttlefish flavour. But now I think they changed their ingredients or recipe. It’s no longer chewy and yummy. They were still big in size but, the texture was more soft and tasteless. I wish they can bring back the same nice cuttlefish balls from before. Previous Visit Very tasty & good portion! Take out tastes as good as dine in order. They keep the noodles chewy and the soup hot. Their signature wonton, beef brisket and cuttlefish balls are amazing! Service is always great and efficient ! It was great to enjoy soup noodles with dine in service at the restaurant. Even though the prices have gone up a bit, but the food quality was consistent and everything was yummy so it was worth it.
Very true to traditional HK style wontons. Fish skin is crispy and close to the original flavours. Quick service. Wished that credit card is accepted, especially in a mall this crowded and new, cash only would be a reason to turn to other options next door. Overall not bad.
The deep fried fish skin is very good. But their food probably the noodle had a lot of MSG. All of us felt very thirsty after the meal. We did finish having the noodle soup. Customer service is excellent and friendly.
