Beamish House

We are in town for a dance competition and were looking for lunch. We found the Beamish House nearby and glad we did. It was busy in the main bar area when we went in, but we were seated very quickly in a quieter dining area.nnOur server was excellent and personable. The food BLT with fries, Cobb salad and Caesar salad were all excellent. The “Winter Sangria” was amazing - both refreshing and tasty.nnThe atmosphere was very friendly with historic accents.nnWe would absolutely go back again.

Quaint pub just off Port Hope's main Street offering traditional fare in a rustic environment. We were here for dinner and the general feeling was that the food was ok, but nothing exceptional. I enjoyed the prime rib roast, which had a well cooked thick cut of prime rib and flavourful gravy but the Yorkshire pudding was dry and the veg was of the frozen variety. While the food didn't excite us, we can't complain about the service, which was excellent. I'm not sure if we will visit again but it would be a good hangout for a pint and some light bar snacks.

We visited as a large group of eight. The food was delicious real beer batter on the cod but the best thing about this place was the super friendly service from Laurel who was an absolute angel.nA couple of us are from the UK and appreciated the surprisingly accurate recreation of the British pub vibe and Laurel's goddess-level banter.

Went late at night to Beamish House. Nice large patio with view to the parking lot & the park. Our waitress was wonderful and the food came pretty quickly. The platter was filling and came with 3 of each items and two sauces. Ordered wings also which were of pretty good size too. Lemonade cocktail was sweet but the strawberry one was sour. The only downside was the constant bite of mosquitoes on the patio. Overall, great food and nice experience.
