Starbucks - Port Hope Travel Plaza

Let me start by saying I KNOW IT’S NEW. However, being new does not excuse the way the store is being run. After a visit on Friday, November 3, around 11 am I swear I will not return. The line up was huge! Which is ok because they are learning, but they had two girls working on mini drinks to give away and the line up was 10 people deep and they did even pitch in. While waiting in line another customer stepped in front of the line and started requesting drinks from her friend working there and she got what she asked for. After paying for my drink the girl making them stood there and had a full on conversation with her friend about shopping lifting happening in Pharmasave. Once the girl had finished making me my flat white she didn’t give it to me. Instead she walked around the store showing everyone her foam art (she made a blob look like a heart). At this point I was mad. She took my drink to the back room where I could not even see what she was doing. I asked the blonde lady who looked like she knew what she was doing and could have been in charge if “that was my drink?” She said yes and when I told her it was inappropriate to parade peoples drinks around she got indignant with me and told the employee to hand over the drink. I could not believe how that location was being run. Management needs to get a grip in their employees and straighten their store out before it’s too late.

Starbucks has only been open a week and already falling below expectation.....I am not impressed. They ran out of Pumpkin Spice and today they claim to be open at 630 am but doors were still closed when I came for my coffees at 7:00 am. Not a good start for something that I was so excited to finally come to Port Hope.

Workers looked and talked like zombies, not sure if it was because of their long shifts but still, emphasis on professionalism

While there I was trying to order and kept getting interrupted by the trainee behind the counter. Also I explained I was using my phone to pay and we made it all the way to the end of the transaction, at this time she informed me the systems down. Just not a great experience.

There is no Starbucks here, however up the street not too far from here is a nice place called Dreamers Cafe.
