Such an amazing dining experience here. To be honest the menu descriptions seemed a bit intimidating but I went with the trout and it was amazing. Such an amazing dish. Really enjoyed it. I also got the friend potatoes which was also a delight, reminding me of my grandfather's fried potatoes who has since passed. We also had the drink special tonight, not sure what it was but it came with a blackberry in it and it was also delicious. We topped the night off with the apple sorbet which was the perfect balance of sweetness and loved the nuts at the bottom too! Would 100% come back here and recommend people to check it out!
We enjoyed the chefs menu with pairings. Was incredibly tasty and so enjoyable. Our server, Travis was so awesome. Personable, warm and helpful. We chatted for a bit and he kindly ended our evening with an Icredible cocktail. The food was so good. The service was great pacing spot on, and the service staff were kind and engaging.
This was my first time there and everything was like butter! We shared the burger and pork loin. They both melted in my mouth. The pork loin was so tender. I’ve had it other places where it was too tough or dry. The burger was so juicy and that homemade bun was both buttery and crispy on the edges. For dessert, the burnt honey crème caramel. I usually like cake desserts but decided to order it. It was SO delicious. So smooth and not too sweet. The caravan flavor lingers and pops in your mouth. We also tried Travis’ competition cocktail called the Hometown Hero and his Negroni. Tasty pairing. We’ll definitely return to try more dishes and cocktails.
An awesome place for wine & dine... We went for wine tasting menu with little adjustment gluten free meal..The chef made sure we were taken on journey of 4 course meal... The food was delicious and felt healthy opposite to a restaurant meal that leaves you feel bloated... We loved every bit of the meal... The staff were absolutely amazing & friendly....
I would love to give this place 5 stars as the food and drinks are AMAZING! However, my girlfriend and I had eaten the lovely appetizers and had a few cocktails so couldn’t finish our main course. We asked the uninterested waitress to pack it up and she brought us the containers to do so. We then left, but we forgot our food on the table. We came back less than 20 minutes later and they told us they had thrown out our food! The restaurant wasn’t even closing for a few more hours and they threw out more than half of our expensive steak! We didn’t think they were honest and they never even offered compensation! Not impressed!
This is one of the restaurants owned by the winner of 2011 Canada’s Top Chef, Dale MacKay. So since we were in Saskatoon on Friday July 15th at 8:00pm and we are foodies we decided to check it out. The steak with bone marrow croquet, Mafalda pasta, and the Basil Exposition cocktail were outstanding. However, We put more than half the steak, and pasta in a to-go container, and forgot it, but returned 20 minutes later and we were told they "threw it out". What?! Who does that so soon? The entire meal was $283.00, with most of it thrown away? They had my phone number from the reservation, and could have called. Sketchy! And no thanks to our female server who could barely crack a smile. I'm sure if Chef MacKay was there he would not have been pleased.
Where do I start with this place. First you walk in the atmosphere is amazing it was busy when we arrived but we were greeted really fast and sat down at a table in the lounge cause again they were busy. We didn't mind at all our waiter Brin I hope I spelled it correct was phenominal aswell as the rest of the staff they all seemed to work together fluently! And granted this is a finer dining establishment as I have never been I cane wearing sweat pants and a sweater. Brin didn't make us feel like we weren't dressed right or anything we felt welcomed and wanted there. The staff were so on the ball and when the food came out...... Omg Steak special was cooked absolutely perfect my photo didn't really catch how perfect the rareness of my steak was every bit of our meals were amazing my girl had a Cosmo, and some bees drink and I myself had a paradise of the prairies drink which was killer good. Also when asked why we came out that evening we mentioned it was my girls bday and were surprised in the end of our meal when they brought out these little soft lemon croquets type deal witha chocolate sauce which again was phenominal and not too heavy after a great meal overall 9.8/10 I don't believe in a perfect 10 but this place comes close and we will be back and overall cost wise we've spent more at chopped and meal wasn't on this level
Had the chef’s family style tasting four course meal. Started with pickerel wings, housemade charcuterie and pickles, goat cheese croquette with spicy quince and basil aioli. I also order the pike tempura. Presentation of all plates was carefully done. Next was risotto bianco with balsamic roast onion, chopped almond, and smoked feta. This was by far my favorite of all dishes. Next was pork loin on braised red cabbage with winter apple, walnuts, and sage. And lastly for dessert I had cream carmel with whisky soaked prunes on top. The restaurant was clean, fresh cutlery for each course. Server was attentive and friendly. My only con for this restaurant was the noise level. It was quite loud but the noise was all from people talking. The place was very busy. As I was leaving and walking down the street I looked into the window of a neighboring restaurant which was near empty. This tells me Ayden’s is doing very well to attract customers for a unique culinary experience. Cost was a lot but for a special occasion I recommend. Cost:$$$$
Saskatoon is not a very big place. Finding somewhere to eat is within walking distance in downtown. Was craving a good meal, and found Ayden to be highly recommended. I was dining by myself and found a spot at the bar thinking I'd get some banter out of the bartender since I am in town scoping out the city, people, and vibe for work. He was great at talking me into a cocktail, which was a nice start of my meal, and we weather talked for 30 seconds, of which he got super busy after and then there was no talk except if I needed to top up more drinks or order more food. The food was exceptional, he recommended the trout, which was delicious, and the chicken liver was delightful. Overall value for food, drink and experience was great. The only negative I had was that I waited almost 50 minutes for my entree order of the trout. I politely asked at 45min and said, I may have to leave if it is not here soon as it is getting late, and I was a little disappointed. The bartender explained that a large table came 5min before me and got their orders in that slammed the kitchen, he apologized, and I understood, these things happen. I'd come back and was very happy with the food quality and experience. I'd recommend to check it out if you've never been.
This is the best meal we have had in Saskatoon. Great setting, lovely service. Very grateful that Chef Dale Mackay has brought world class dining to Saskatoon. Look at the presentation of my steak!
