"Since the original opening of our café in 2003, Amato Gelato has become a staple in Calgary. Located in the charming area of Kensington, we offer a great environment for sipping an espresso or enjoying a delicious scoop of gelato.We are open year-round, and since 2018 have offered an expanded menu in addition to our rotating menu of 72 Gelato Flavours. Very charming little shop! The service is amazing and offer an impressive variety of flavours, including plant based, too. The decor is quaint, inviting, not to mention great music and a beautifully laid out patio for the warmer days. Toddler approved as well! Definitely check this place out if you want a nice family day or for a date night out.
This place was just GREAT . The variety of ice creams and desserts were great. Very unique desserts and taste great too. The hot chocolate float was delicious . First time I ever had something like this Has adequate seating . Very convenient parking also accessible through public transit . Very nice staff
Overall not bad. The vibes are good, workers are nice. They were efficient delivering our food which is to be expected as the price was higher than usual. The hot chocolate was bland however the toppings and presentation were well above average. Would come again occasionally.
Simply the best ! Great section, Friendly service . The Gelato was so delicious. So many favours great location . Must visit . Highly recommend!! Come by perfect for a summer day !
Absolutely delicious! Best Affogato I've ever had, and just the texture alone of the Gelato was enough to make me want to come back for more, let alone the flavor. It has a really cute patio and it's easy to get to.
Love how this location has so many different options and a wonderful space for customers to enjoy their treats without being rushed out like pretty much all the other ice cream shops! But Amato isn’t just an ice cream spot, first it’s got endless flavors of gelato so it trumps all others. But they also have cakes, hot coco floata, coffees, affogato. The spiked hot coco floats are really something else, just incredible! Excellent service too! Definitely a spot I’d go back to again and again!
Highly recommend the Black cherry and affogato with coconut no sugar added ice cream. But all the flavours are light and tasty Amazing coffee and spectacular ice cream. Their patio is super nice and comfy during the summer!
Amato Gelato simply has the best selection of Gelato and Sorbetto. The servers are always friendly and helpful. Whenever I want to treat myself, I am happy to travel across the city to enjoy a couple of scoops of amazing flavors.Food: 5/5
Maybe I have had gelato too many places and am spoiled. I felt the gelato was good but not great. The texture was a little dry and almost crumbly rather than smooth. My latte was very flavorful but expect European sizes. Our large was comparable to a tall at Starbucks. Nice spot if you have the right expectations.
This location is nice. I like it for being original but the quality differs slightly from the new one on 17th. Kensington location feels colder, not as cozy. The hot chocolate floats are fabulous!! You should try one Food: 4/5
