There is Taiwanese food and then there is Taiwanese fusion food. Bunnys fall into the latter category and wow, did they hit the mark. They use high quality and fresh ingredients. The noodle seems to be hand-made. The truffle fries are just out of this world. I could just eat like 3-4 orders of the fries except it would be really bad for my health. Some of the fruits e.g. dragon fruit for smoothies are imported from Taiwan. Again, they don't skim on these high quality ingredients. The chef/owner is also quite innovative in creating the dishes. Great presentation and great fusion. They are located in this weird and isolated location after the River District and kinda in the industrial area along Marine drive. Hope the location doesn't impact their business. This won't prevent me from visiting again as they create new menu items.
Aside from being somewhat hidden away which is a bonus if you want the privacy the food was delicious. I had the curry lamb bao sandwich with chicken nuggets and a fully sweet avocado smoothie. Very memorable and if by chance I'm hungry in that area, I now know where to go. Thanks to my friend James who brought me.
Amazing! I was expecting steam buns... But it was so much better! I had the Hawaiian sandwich which has a deep fried dough bun but with the toppings like chicken, pineapple and sauces it was so refreshing! It's hard to compare it to anything else because it's unique. The fries are crispy and nicely truffle. The popcorn chicken...well it's like karaage but bite size so what's not to love? I definitely recommend trying Bunnies and will absolutely be going back.
Food was great!! For everything that we ordered, they were really generous with the meat- the chicken on the buns, side fried calamari, and the fried pork. The kale noodles had a really great texture too. We’ll be coming back :
Discover new place in Burnaby! The place is super clean Taiwanese vibe . With the price that I paid, this is surprisingly have high quality ingredients and utensils. The staff is super nice well trained! Overall price is reasonable except the drink. I think it’s new store and need a lot of local support !!!!
I had such an amazing experience here. The owner made some excellent recommendations and even went into detail explaining the ingredients they use. It was very eye opening, and most of all I enjoyed the food so much!! I ordered the smoked salmon porcubun, with a side of truffle fries and a mango passion fruit smoothie. The porcubun was deliciously crunchy and all the toppings tasted great. The truffle fries were my favourite—they are some of the best fries I’ve had! And finally the smoothie is made with real passion fruit, which is a pleasant surprise. I can tell the food was made with care and quality ingredients. Thank you Bunnys for making my day. <3 I look forward to trying out the other delicious menu items!
I am glad I gave this place a try! I ordered the tuna sashimi and holy cow buns I thought it'd be similar to the Vietnamese banh mi and a milk tea. After I drove back to open the box I was surprised to see the bun being a deep fried donut texture, the food looked good but IT TASTED AWESOME! WOW! I really can't compare this to anything because in plain it's a crunchy donut sandwich? 10/10 on flavor, crunchiness and textures. And the milk tea was really tasty!
Just a heads up that theur menu changed a few weeks ago. So the baos look like their gone but they still do have sandwiches. What we ended up getting was the popcorn chicken, calamari, and truffle fries. Everything was solid. The calamari was suprisingly the best thing out of the three although I wouldn't make a special trip for them. It looks like their sandwiches and ramen are popular so I'll give that a shot next time.
Yummy food! Awesome staff! The chef is an artist and is so thoughtful as he prepares the food. Will definitely come back to try more things on the menu : I had the Ahi Tuna Sashimi bun with Truffle fries for lunch and it hit the spot. Only regret was not ordering the milk tea.
Very beautiful food presentation! Every single dish looks pretty. The restaurant is clean and there are more then enough parking spots. Owner and the staff are both friendly. I paid more than 17 dollars for the noodle and drink combo. Plus $6+ for yam puffs. The texture of the noodles was very very very good! Even though the flavour was a bit plain, we enjoyed it. Milk tea has nice flavour and the cup was really cute! However, there was more ice than the drink. Yam puffs were terrible!!!! I believe they have been sitting on their warming tray for a while. They were cold and so hard. No one on our table wanted second one. So bad that I had to throw the rest away.
