This place was amazing. They have a wall of photos of people who recently came which makes the place really cool. Food was delicious and fresh. Highly recommend
Really cool concept of stuffed tofu skins with delicious toppings on top! Think of it as the Korean equivalent to a Twice Baked Potato! They have a wide variety of delictable flavours from Kim Chi Fried Rice, with a tiny Egg on top, to Spicy Salmon! A tad on the pricey side at just under $5 per piece but something that is definitely worth trying or as an indulgence Get there early, if you're buying in advance of lunch or dinner as their popular flavours sell out quick! Pro tip, there's a tiny Microwave in the store and they suggest you nuke them for 30 seconds before consuming!
YUBU means tofu pockets in Korean. Sweet tofu pockets filled with seasoned rice and then topped off with a wide selection of different toppings from beef bulgogi, torched salmon, garlic mushrooms and many more.Food: 4/5
Tried the spicy crab salad, bulgogi, gochujang salmon and spicy salmon. They recommend heating it up for 30s prior to eating and that was a good suggestion! The tofu pockets taste pretty good in general and has enough sauce and flavours. It isnt anything too special imo and I ended up paying an average of just over $5 per inari after tax the prices range from $3.5-4,89 before tax. I gave them a 3/5 mainly from a cost perspective since the ingredients isnt anything special or expensive and $5 per pocket is on the pricier side. If youre around the area I think it is definitely worth trying once, but I wouldnt make a special trip that is out of my way to get any. All in all, I enjoyed it. Parking: Plenty of parking spots
Been seeing everyone posting about these and decided to give them a try! These were delicious but not amazing, they kind of taste like what you expect them to taste like lol. Other than these tofu pockets being very photogenic, they are also pretty expensive 6 pieces for $30. What we ordered Kimchi fried rice flavourful + runny yolk Spicy crab juicy and fresh Torched salmon good but salmon to rice ration was lacking Tuna mayo a little too sweet Regular salmon really liked the bit of uni, could be better with soy sauce and wasabi The tofu pocket itself is very thin and not chewy or bouncy compared to your regular inari sushi. Kinda feels more like a sweeten beancurd sheet. Would I come back? Possibly I did enjoy them but not sure how often I would want to eat this, ill rather eat regular sushi.
Come earlier in the day if you want more selection!! We came at around 8pm and they only had 3 flavours left, but as we were ordering, they told us they were making fresh salmon/torched salmon yubu. We ended up with the torched salmon, crab mayo, and tuna mayo. The torched salmon was my fave bc salmon obviously lol and it was also slightly warm, compared to the other ones that are just fully refrigerated. Crab mayo wasn't bad but it wasn't anything special, and same with the tuna mayo. I definitely will come back to try the other flavours tho. Ordering system is kinda weird. You have to order off and pay on the screen and then pass the receipt to the employee who picks out the yubu, which seems kind of redundant, especially since they're already standing there. I think it would've been faster for the employee to order for us. But anyway, it's a cool concept and I can't wait for the rest of the food hall to open
It’s a tasty snack. Quite a bit of rice compared to topping. Definite on the pricier side at $4-$5/one.
We tried the 3 toppings of the Korean Tofu Pockets - Bulgogi, Egg Salad & Seaweed Salad. It had a promotion of "Buy 3 get 1 free" for IG followers at that time so we got 1 more Egg Salad for free. The Bulgogi is our favourite. The Egg Salad didn't have the taste of egg. Seaweed Salad had the standard taste. The rice filling & the tofu pocket taste a bit sweet & tangy. But the price is not cheap. It costs over $4 each after tax. You can't get full after eating two and it serves cold right out from the fridge. I think it's better to warm it up to room temperature when eating.
Good place for a snack! My fav was the torched salmon.
looks so greatYummy Korean Tofu Pocket
