30 pm lunch. They were ready to seat us right away . No reservation. Lots of people inside despite due to rain outside. Very good Patty melt. Very warm, it was just made. Service was cordial. It's been awhile since I stopped here for lunch but it's as good as ever.

Awesome place to eat, plates are big, food is great. Not so many choices but great place to find comfort from nature and good to refill stomach after much traveling. This is a great place, but like many rural places you do not necessarily get the greatest customer serve as so far as sometimes they are busy and it might take some time, maybe plenty, to be served. Other than that is good, food is great. They serve coffee and chocolate. Waitress are nice and good looking.  Great location, it might take a few seconds to find them, but boy, good food.

Had the special which was chicken breast covered in avocado and Jack cheese. Very delicious. Not 5 star but well worth the meal and experience. Dakota the waitress was just as awesome

Second time in 2 months I've stayed in Yreka and gone to Black Bear diner. Last time had to seat myself and once I finally got someone to wait on me I waited over 40 minutes for my food to arrive after I ordered it. 

Tonight is my second visit, stood at the front waiting to be seated as one after another waitresses continued to walk past me, not one said anything, not even a "we will be with you in a moment". Finally by a miracle I get offered a menu and sat. Table is filthy, trash left and food stuck to the seats, old straw wrapper laying on my fork. I sat and waited as waitress after waitress walked past, even taking an order from the gentlemen directly behind me, yet not one time did anyone say it will be just a moment or we will be right with you, not even a drink order, just walked on past over and over. I finally put my menu down hoping that would motivate the staff, still nothing so I got up and walked out, not one word, nothing, as if I didn't even exist. 

Black Bear diner has many great establishments all over the West and I've been to many, even the one next to my home in Arizona and not one of them has ever treated me so poorly and been so disconnected from its customers or as filthy as the one in Yreka. Honestly management should take a good hard look at who they have representing their establishment. Two chances in two months, sadly there will not be a third visit, as I will not give them my time or money again at this location.

So.. really good food... pancakes fab... cheese burger salad fresh and the bacon really good. Chorizo scramble with fresh fruit  real nice way to start your day. Some plates are easy to share.. generous portions.. $$ prices but well worth the cash... oh lastly restrooms are well kept.. my pet peeve... for that it earned the 5th ☆... try it...
