November in Maine: literally all lobster pounds are closed.....except this wonderful place that never do such thing as "closed for the season". I wanted to try Maine lobster for the first time during my travel in bar harbor but I could not find any lobster pounds open and the only food I could get for breakfast and lunch were sandwiches that taste nothing special compared to chain restaurants or even worse than those I make at home. I happened to find Young's Lobster Pound on search as I was desperately looking for a lobster places for dinner. I gave it a try and it turned out to be wonderful. I could not try their cooked lobster meal unfortunately because I got there really at the last minute and they stop cooking 30 minutes before they close. Instead, I got a live lobster. The staffs there asked whether I had any experience in cooking lobster before and I said no. Then, they gave me all the tips how to boil lobster properly and make it tasty. I got home and cooked as they told me and it turned out to be wonderful. Very kind and friendly staffs, good price, wonderful lobsters, and stays open in all season. What could be better than that? It is an hour from Bar Harbor but if anyone passes Belfest by on your way home and want a lobster, then definitely try this place. I am planning on visiting this place again with my friend or even by myself to try their cooked meal in two more weeks of my stay in Maine.

It's hard to put a fair price on fresh lobster so I'm not one to say if they're expensive but consider this... You can bring your own side dishes and drinks, including alcohol and you can dine family style outside on picnic tables overlooking the bay. The atmosphere is great and of course so is the lobster!!! I have at least one dinner there every time I visit.

This place is amazing! First, it's BYOB which is fabulous. I got to bring my favorite wine to my favorite lobster pound! Staff is super friendly and the location is tops. My kids were over the moon. Plenty of space to run around and play and "visit" the lobsters while the adults and older kids crushed some of the best lobster in Maine! Perfect end to the day-watching the sunset over the bay while eating the best lobsters in Maine! The staff is just the best. All the guys were so sweet to my boys. My smallest was running around just in love with the place and they kept stopping to show him the lobsters. LOVE IT.

Fresh, fresh and fresh. Best lobster!
The staff is playful and has a great sense of humor.
Place your order and go sit on the deck with your wine or beer and wait for your number to be called. Or call ahead to order.
Ten stars

Best place ever. I don't even know how to review it other than that. Bring some beer order a bunch of food then love every second of enjoying it on the dock.
