Story

Toronto's The York Academy of Martial Arts provides kids and adults karate, self -defense, and weapons classes that are separated by age and skill. They also offer Tai chi / Yoga fusion, stretching and Pilates classes. York AMA's award winning program with it's focus on continual learning, confidence building, fitness and fun has been featured on programs for the CBC, TVO, OMNI TV, YTV and Rogers Cable. Training in traditional Okinawan Karate and self defense, in the right way and with the right attitude, can give you or your child the strong mind, strong body and strong you that you have always wanted.

York AMA is an amazing school and it fit perfectly with my family's schedule. York AMA has been the perfect academy for my son with friendly and knowledgable instructors. He has learned so much more than just martial arts including life skills like focus, respect and patience. I highly recommend York AMA.

I was referred by Sean and loved the experience overall. Unfortunately I am busy and can’t make it there too much but looking forward to coming back!

I take taichi class there with my husband.  Sensei Verlaan both of them are excellent instructors.  Unlike many taichi classes that u just follow the movea of th instructor, sensei breaks down the moves and made learning them easy and understandable.   Great hidden gem in the area.

Over a year ago, we decided to enroll my son to Karate because he is shy and now he is looking forward every class. By the way, their new location is very nice!
