William C. Sterling State Park

Excellent picnic facilities. Restrooms not always accessible. Nice playspace for children. Trails are well kept. Vegetation has regenerated and offers great natural viewing and fieldwork. Beware the currents. I do not swim here. Fine boating area. Fishing throughout the year.

I love the trees right against the lake, it provides great shade, the beach is nice to build sand castle on. The water had some mild waves that my kids (4, 7, and 9) loved. Stays fairly shallow for a good distance. The water is a good temperature. I called the park ahead of time to ask about the water quality. The state, quality checks the water once a week on Tuesdays, this park is regularly good and doesn't have water quality issues. While I was swimming in the water it felt and looked clean.

Beautiful park. Clean and full of trees and wildlife. Awesome walking or biking trail through the wet lands with ponds, bridges and paved all the way. So peaceful. One of my favorite local places. Eat at Clam diggers which is near by, the best pizza!!!

My first time going to Sterling State park, I must say I was pleasantly surprised. Clean beach and family friendly. The one reason I didn't give it 5 stars is I think they could use a bit more signage. I would have like to checked out the walking trails, but we couldn't find them. Can't wait to go back.

Perfect place for a family outing. Nice beach to have a swim followed by a lake side walk. Would definitely recommend. Free admission with recreation passport (State Parks Pass). There're plenty of rest rooms/dress changing rooms for the convenience. Enjoy.
