Excellent seafood fettuccine and steak. Very accommodating staff sitting us at a bigger table so my wheelchair can fit properly. Once again very accommodating for myself in a wheelchair, having toasted shrimp sandwich. Enjoy the cocktail sauce and mayo on the bread. Not smothering the shrimp
We walked in with 14 people. Staff did an awesome job taking care of everyone. Coffee was hot, food was good ! And Company was great Plenty of parking! And location was just off the main road . Menu was great, Plenty of choices . Next time I will call for reservation for everyone to sit together.
How is it possible that a restaurant has run out of steak at 6pm? It was a weird experience. The server was doing her best but the food was “canned”. The chowder was good but everything else so so. Lots of easy parking at this location and the location is excellent. The new surveillance camera in front of the restaurant is a lovely addition to the ambience.
The whole experience took too long. Arrived at 5 pm and got out at 650 pm. Had a burger, coffee and a dessert. The server was pleasant but everything from the food delivery to the coffee refill waits, just took way too long. I was not sitting after my meal just wasting time. I politely asked the server if they were short staffed it was a polite hint but she said no we just never know how busy it will be. It wasn't even super busy , many tables were empty I also didn't appreciate the man coming up from behind me startling me asking how everything is while my mouth was full of food. The server had asked previous but when I wasn't chewing. Also the bacon cheddar burger had a very thin amount of cheese on it. For the amount they charge l would expect more cheese. And by the way when I arrived at 5 and asked to sit in my favourite spot the upper left part they said it wasn't open as there was no server in there. There was no wait or anyone ahead of me and was very quiet. This was Sunday Nov27/22
White Spot used to my "Go to Place" but just not anymore - and I have been going to them for 60 years since the South Granville location where it was lined up to get in. Cold night, so I went for a large bowl of Clam Chowder always been good - server took my order and then came back and said we are out of clam chowder. Went for the stand-by of Legendary and Fries. I said I was in no rush, and could she make sure the fries are freshly cooked. The fries were warm at best not freshly cooked and I am sure the burger was micro-waved from the look of the patty - dried out and no glisten of being fresh cooked with any moisture to it. The cheese was fully melted, and the bun was very warm - not from the grill but from a microwave. Cole Slaw was the same temperature as the fries. $18.88 for dried hamburger, warm fries and warm coleslaw. Didn't eat the fries or the coleslaw. Service was excellent and very friendly - only good thing about the meal. When White Spot looks at its sales and tries to figure out why they are going down, look no farther than the food. Also you get about six menus - Drink menu, Meal Menu, Hamburger menu, Happy Hour menu, Daily Special menu - not sure who or what they are trying to be - go back to the basics of good food. I post this review in the hopes that somebody at the restaurant or White Spot reads them, and then decides to do something about it Parking: Lots of parking Wheelchair accessibility: Looks good from the parking lot and a lower level dining area
The best experience I've had at a restaurant happened today. I think the server's name was Holly and she made our visit so enjoyable. Her customer service was above and beyond, like, give that girl a raise! the food was fantastic and we left there feeling like valued customers. 10/10 would recommend going there.Food: 5/5
It's uncommon one can go into a family restaurant and come out feeling you just ate at quite a high end place. The atmosphere isn't quite there, but the food taste and quality was perfect. Monty Mushroom platter last night ranks as one of the best 5 tasting burgers I've had in my life... And I'm 50. Well done white spot. Lisa, our server, is also top shelf, nice, friendly, just enough humour, and on top of all service aspects.
My favourite restaurant, since I was a young child. Always my go-to for any event. Can't wait to bring my friends here when they visit from Scandinavia. Friendly staff, good food, cheerful manager. Love the atmosphere. I wish they wouldn't change the fries, sometimes they're different...but only a minor flaw ;Food: 5/5
I was visiting from Vancouver last summer and having dinner with my grandparents & mother. While collecting the order we wanted to double check that everything had been included in the bag but the hostess assured all was well didn’t want to be rude and rip open the bag after she confidently soothed our fears. When we arrived home and sat down to eat, we found we were missing multiple sides / tartar for the fish & chips my mother had ordered. I called White Spot at the table in front of the family and kindly asked the manager to send my grandparents a gift card for the missing items and provided their address. Fair enough, right? On a later visit, my grandmother mentioned to me they had never received the gift card. I hadn’t even asked for any particular denomination from the manager on the phone, just a simple gesture to right what was wrong. Why should we have to pay for things we didn’t get? It was disappointing to find out no gift card was sent. We have always enjoyed White Spot as a family, a trusted consistency. Now I wonder if this experience has changed our view of White Spot forever… Gaslighting us into thinking the fries were in the bag, having a laugh, pretending to take down the address for gift card. We will always remember the time the White Spot in North Nanaimo forgot about us.
Thank you Kella and Nicolette for your wonderful service and lovely gesture on 11/09/22. We came in for dinner to celebrate my partners dad's birthday, who passed away a few years ago. White Spot twas called Nat Baileys back then is where he courted his sweetie many many years ago in Vancouver and was their favorite spot. You two ladies were touched by the story and surprised us with dessert on the house. Thank you so much, we will be back, your the best.
