Whaleback Inn

We decided at last minute to stay in Leland. Lucky for us, they had cancellation shortly before we called and we were able to book a room. The surroundings are super cozy in a nature setting with views of Lake Leelanau. Our host checked us in in a timely fashion and was very helpful recommending things to do in the local area. He personally showed us to our room and where everything was including the common area where coffee, juice, and fruit are readily available in the morning.. The room itself was very clean with nice views and a walk-out patio where we could sit and watch the sun rise over the lake. The location is close to town as well, so you could walk, ride a bike, or drive. The price was good too. I would highly recommend staying here if you ever get over this way!

The Whaleback Inn had nice, comfortable rooms set in a beautiful location. If I am in the area again, I will definitely return.

Nice location across from the lake. Large front lawn. Good sized rooms. Friendly (but not overly so) proprietors.

My husband and I have been coming to Leelanau peninsula for well over 20 years for our anniversary trip. We love the area, bike paths, and the whaleback. Scott and Tammie delightful hosts, therooms are clean, the beds are cozy, and the view is spectacular!
