I love staying at Hillside Homestead because it reminds me so much of staying with my grandmother on their farm in the 1950's. The sheets at night smell so fresh from hanging on the line. The air off Lake Michigan is fresh and clean and you can sleep with the windows open and feel so safe. The farm kitchen is welcoming and has all the familiar smells of grandma's cooking. The home is welcoming and so peaceful, I hate to leave. There also is so much to see and do

We had a chance to visit and tour Hillside Homestead this summer. We were able to see all of the guest rooms and common areas, as well as walk the grounds to meet the livestock. Everything was as it should be for a home representing that time period, and neat as a pin. Although we had other lodging plans that trip, we will be planning to come and stay, and we especially want to enjoy Susan's cooking. 🙂
