Stayed at the Vineyard Inn this past weekend. The property is located on Sutton's Bays near many vineyards and Traverse City, Michigan. As noted, it is on the Bay with a beach and ability to go into the lake or sunbath. It is a beautiful location. We had a suite with queen size bed. Some updates have been done to the room, but not enough for me to be comfortable. I guess dust, missing woodwork, cracked tiles, miss-matched furniture, and dark hallways made for an less than spectacular stay. Again, the location is wonderful, the beach is beautiful (take your own chair and towels), but the rooms are tired.

This place is an over priced dump! Our room has a strong musty moldy smell. They never cleaned our room either. The mattress was old and lumpy and the cheap pillows are hard as rocks. The lack of a dresser or table in the room is very inconvenient since there isn't any where to put your belongings, so you can't unpack. There wasn't a mini refrigerator in our room even though the website states there is one in every room. When we called to complain when they didn't even empty our trash or make the bed, we were told they typically don't do that. Pam was argumentative and not apologetic. It was obvious to us, she lacks any type of formal hotel and hospitality training and asked us to leave when we complained. We won't be back.

The wine tasting room is nice but the Inn is not worth a nights stay. The room we had was in dire need of updating. The 2nd day there I had to take a cold shower. The coach in the room looked dirty and very worn. This place has the potential to be nice but needs new management. We obviously will not be back to this place.
