Story

West End Bakery is a cafe/bakery located in the heart of downtown Guelph. We offer many products, including several varieties of bread, pies, cookies, tarts, sandwiches, meat pies and quiches.

We offer take-out or eat-in options. Our cafe has 5 different kinds of self-serve coffee to choose from, including two flavoured coffee options every day. We also serve espressos, lattes and cappucinos.

Our cakes are our specialty, and if you're in need of one for any occasion, you're encouraged to come into the store to pick from one of our many fresh cakes in the showcase, or place an order for a custom-made cake. We can help you build a cake for any occasion, and for any size crowd -- and it will be a cake that's guaranteed to please!

Pretty big place, friendly service, lots of tables to sit and have a bite. Noticed that walls are decorated with real paintings and some of them are very beautiful! As for the food - affordable! Although they did not have many options to choose from on Saturday 3 pm. They were sold out of quite a lot of items. I went with simple croissant - and I chose right! Crunchy on the outside, soft inside and very fresh. Boyfriend bought beef pie and it was good overall - just found beef filling weird. Apple turnover did not taste fresh and was quite soggy. Probably cause it was almost the end of the day. Oh and another thing - they don't take credit cards. Cash only.

I've been buying their world famous 'walnut coated butterhorns' for more than 40 years and still love them to pieces. Free WiFi..pw: buttertarts. Window seating is very special. Fun place to sit and be the window dressing. PS. Coffee is good too. Free refills if you get it in a China mug.

Sometimes you just want a good cup of tea and a sweet. Friendly and comfortable, reasonably priced, always welcoming..come as you are. I tried the chicken pie and it was delicious, pastry very good and nice serving of chicken and vegetables.

Always amazing customer service, and ALWAYS amazing baked goods. Only downfall, not open on Sundays.
