Walkway Over the Hudson State Historic Park

The Walkway Over the Hudson is a beautiful historic walkway bridge. I went there with a group of kids since I was a camp counselor this past summer. The view is beautiful and the walk is a great distance. Parking is free and the hours are from sunrise to sunset.

We had a lot of fun walking here. It was easy to find and parking was easy. There are nice signs that give the history and fun facts. It was busy and a little crowded, but that didn't take away from it at all. It is the longest elevated pedestrian bridge in the world.

The View, enough said! but really all the volunteers deserve an honorable mention, they help keep the walkway safe and clean. There are also a lot of fundraising events and cool things to do there.

Very pleasant experience walking on the bridge and the surrounding area. Love to see lot more things to do on both side of the bridge in future. Immense potential out there to revamp local economy through Walkway over the Hudson.

When my I first had my son's I would walk along here pushing them in the stroller. Now they enjoy riding their bikes as my husband and I walk along. The park they have added below is also very nice and right next to the Children's Museum. The whole experience is great for families looking for a nice outing in Poughkeepsie.
